Viking Air Left Much to be desired by markhager

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Star

At the time this Viking ocean cruise was offered, it had a promotion of free roundtrip airfare. Implicit in this promotion is "reasonable" flight arrangements. However, this was not our experience. First, notwithstanding 15+ daily direct (relatively inexpensive) flights from Phoenix to Los Angeles, Viking set us up on 6:30 a.m. flight, which means getting to the airport at 4:30 a.m. Then, on our return flight from L.A., again notwithstanding many daily direct flights, they routed us through San Francisco - adding multiple hours and unnecessary variables to our travel. And finally, when we attempted to change our outbound flight to a more reasonable hour/convenient location, Viking wanted to charge us a $350/person change fee - which is 2 - 2.5x the cost of a ticket. Its almost as if Viking is intentionally trying to make air travel for its guests unduly cumbersome and time-consuming, which certainly diminishes the overall travel experience. As veteran river and ocean cruisers we have, in the past, recommended Viking to family and friends. However, given this latest experience, we are encouraging our family and friends to look elsewhere. There are many good, higher-end cruise lines to choose from, and we believe they can have a more positive experience with one of those other lines. Viking has lost its luster.

Much Calmer after the 3 Days! by Geepeejay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Splendor

The cruising this time (after the previous 3 days to nowhere) was pretty good. A much more leisurely and sedate experience. It was unfortunate Mare was off the itinerary, as we wanted to again visit - oh well, next time.

Disappointing Cruise Overall by leepal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Splendor

This was the first of three cruises we took out of Sydney. We went back to back for 10 days to New Zealand after this cruise. We were very disappointed to have one Island cancelled due to rough weather for tenders and one cancelled due to CoVid restrictions in New Caledonia. Therefore we only had three stops and two were in Noumea.

Many Itinerary Deviations by dslaughter1159

Itinerary was changed the week before the cruise. All the ports were re-arranged. When actually attempting execute the revised itinerary, lost some ports. After traveling so far from the US, we were disappointed in the cancelled ports.

Fantastic cruise by kerriemm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

I really loved my trip. I went with a group of 15 age range 83 to 14. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and their weren't many complaints. I heard many people who did complain but they just seemed to want the earth. I found the staff extremely polite and attentive. Maybe because l was polite and civil to them

A bit hit and miss but still love Celebrity by peterjules

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: South Pacific

We have always wanted to stay in an AFT corner Sky suite. It was lovely but tired and the suite experience started off rocky with our embarkation due to the staff at the OPT not knowing who was entitled to what. Luminae was a little hit or miss but the maitre d here was exceptional when he heard about our concerns. Marlene in Michael's Club was a gem and really helped us when wanting to make/change bookings. Amnah, our butler, went out of her way to make sure we had an enjoyable 45th wedding anniversary and cruise. She even brought us nibbles and wine for 8 off us when we had a suite party! We felt this cruise was a little hit or miss...the drinks were certainly not comparable to previous cruises. But, we love Celebrity and will cruise again with them shortly.

First week was amazing by poohbearferg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We would not go on another cruise longer than 7 days again. We caught covid onboard on day 8 and were confined to our quarters until disembarking. Total waste of a lot of money. Others around us coughing up their lungs and obviously not reported as still roaming freely. Everyone should be tested regularly and large antibacterial pumps should be in every cabin.

Fabulous trip but badly let down by baronswell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: South Pacific

A fabulous cruise but on hindsight would never have stepped on board if we'd known the outcome. Shame on Princess for keeping us in the dark.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific

This was my first and certainly not my last, hopefully it won’t be too long until the Covid 19 gets sorted and make the ships safe to travel on. Overall we all had a fabulous time, sorry we didn’t get to see the other parts of the itinerary. From service staff to dinning staff they were fantastic and deserve a big thank you for make the voyage very pleasant.

Had a wonderful time in NZ by HelenSmith61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Princess cruises are our favourite cruise line, and this cruise was right up to their standards, despite being on the oldest ship in the fleet. Great service, entertainment, and onboard shopping. The meals were fantastic, and waitstaff exceptional. All in all , an a1 cruise.

Great French Polynesia Cruise by rpramuka

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Navigator / Destination: South Pacific

Great itinerary. The service on the ship was great. The food was great. The people were great. We will probably not cruse on the Navigator again unless the itinerary overcomes the lack of a forward observation lounge and the vibration and engine noise.
