Was not what I expected by cherwood

Ship: Regatta / Destination: South Pacific

Embarkation took way to long, what takes so long to get rooms ready waiting to 3:pm is just not right. You ask how many cruises I have been on well that was #55.

Great itinerary! Far superior than the Norwegian Pearl and Star. by ArmenMakasjian

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

It want to specifically thank Chris Festerman, our cruise rep., for giving us great advice on this specific cruise, especially on the warning of rough waters when crossing the Tasman sea. Also, his recommendation on taking the Jewel surely paid off. The cruise was great!

Two Weeks Down Under by zennettaj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Our cruise began as an overnight in Sydney NSW, leaving later the next evening. Then, we spent a day at sea before landing at Burney, Tasmania. From there, we stopped at Melbourne, Victoria, where we overnighted until the following afternoon. The next two days were spent sailing in the Tasman Sea toward New Zealand. On the following day, we entered Milford Sound, followed by Doubtful Sound and finally Dusky Sound. Upon exiting Dusky Sound the ship entered the Pacific Ocean, sailing to Port Chalmers, the gateway to the city of Dunedin. On the following day, we Anchored off the coast of Akaroa, which is about an hour and a half from Christchurch. The next day was a visit to Wellington. From there, we spent two days at sea before returning to Sydney. This was a nice relaxing cruise.

Unmet Expectations by kevinlawler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Wind Spirit / Destination: South Pacific - Tahiti

We were disappointed in the condition and cleanliness of the ship i.e. the top decking was work, warped and rusted. Carpets worn and tired, etc.. The ship had constant breakdowns, i.e. generators, engines, power, AC, marine deck, anchor, sails, etc.. . Should have been in dry dock 6 months ago.

Not a great cruise due to ports rejecting the ship due to coronavirus threat by 2morehogs

Very disappointed with this cruise after 4 of the best ports were closed to the ship due to the threat of the coronavirus.

Trip of a lifetime by BillyJay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regatta / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Oceania delivered on an excellent, unforgettable cruise. Being a smaller sized ship, the Regatta was much more comfortable and no doubt allowed access to interesting smaller ports where the leviathans can't go. The cuisine was sublime. The only word to describe the Toscana restaurant is mmmmm. Crew and service were top notch. Special compliments to our concierge stewardess Rena. The ship and cabin were clean and comfortable. The six excursions were well worthwhile. Overall, luxurious comfort and a lot of fun.

Noir dam is a good size ship, not too big. A chance to meet and revisit with many passengers. Clean and well maintained. Service was very good. Biggest flaw was the food...

'Down Under' cruise by rvcaptain5327

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Cruises are always a good idea but this one was a little lacking for us due to the lack of personal service and complimentary food options. I dislike having so much more costs involved after I have already paid for the cruise. It even charged an additional fee for charging money to the card for using the casino machines on a so-called cashless ship. This was my 47th cruise so this being my 1st NCL cruise I was a little under-whelmed. The people were all courteous but they are spread too thin.

Fabulous anniversary cruise by 40Anniversary

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Silver Muse / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We really enjoyed our cruise. Silverseas is a luxury line & it shows, they are a little too luxury for our taste. There were 3 formal nights, about 8 informal nights & the rest casual. My husband didn't like the fact this meant he was wearing a jacket to dinner almost every night. We prefer cruising a little more casual. There is not much to do on the ship other than the casino & evening shows, but we got off in every port so it wasn't a big issue. The land tour across the south island was our favorite part of the trip. All of the staff were top notch and service was great. We truly celebrated our 40th anniversary in style.

The Great Barrier Reef was to be the centerpiece, but we never got to see the Reef by cskenney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We waited over a year to see the Great Barrier Reef. Then, when the moment came, Celebrity/Sunlovers Cruises failed to provide the means for seeing the Reef. The Celebrity/Sunlovers boat held just 27 people, forcing the 300 people to go aboard for just 15 minutes each. 15 minutes to see the Great Barrier Reef is false advertising, verging on fraud. And we were charged nearly $300 extra to see the Reef for 15 minutes. [Then we did not even get the 15 minutes because the glass-bottom boat was cancelled by ocean swells.

Great trip and wonderful beaches by arttexsteve

Ship: Sea Princess / Destination: South Pacific

Great cruise for a beachy getaway. We like the ship size, amenities and staff. Sterling Steakhouse not as good as on other ships. Horizon court service marginal for early breakfast and for lunch.

Quiet journey by CruisingtoNZ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Azamara Journey / Destination: South Pacific

Good quiet cruise to use as a way to travel to Pacific islands. Would not recommend for people under age 50 as they will find too little activity onboard.

Not Worth It by diane1774

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

We are yearly cruisers in our 40s/50s, and were bored out of our minds on this cruise (to the point we considered leaving the ship early). All of the activities and entertainment is geared towards a MUCH older, less active crowd (even the front desk confirmed this). If you enjoy a more quiet experience - i.e. knitting classes, bossanova music, in bed by 10pm - than this is the cruise for you. They do not offer a variety to appeal to all ages, even though there were some younger folks on board (although I’d say 75% on the guests were retirement age or older). The good news is that the casino will never be crowded so you’ll always get a seat at a table (and may often be one of a few people in there). Just watch the dealers! My son was cheated my a dealer who couldn’t count to 21 and when caught, the pit boss said “he’s just a trainee” and laughed. We will NOT be cruising with Princess again.
