Review summary

Good quiet cruise to use as a way to travel to Pacific islands. Would not recommend for people under age 50 as they will find too little activity onboard.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Very easy with such a small ship

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
As a vegetarian, I felt the options were adequate although limited. I didn’t go to the specialty restaurants, but the food from the main dining room, The Patio, and room service were quite good. The food from Windows was below par, but buffets usually are.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The spa and fitness centers are small onboard. I thoroughly enjoyed the thalassotherapy pool. All spa treatments were excellent. If you really are going to workout and spa (including meals) you will want Celebrity rather than Azamara.

Entertainment

I wasn’t interested in doing evening entertainment as that’s my favorite time to go to the spa since it is almost empty. The entertainment was, however, geared to an older crowd - bridge classes, knitting group, etc. This is a ship primarily for age 65+

Children's Programs

No kids and not very kid friendly

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent. Staff seems very happy and as if this is a better place to work than most cruise ships

Ship Quality

Fine but feels quite tired

Cabin / Stateroom

Very comfortable

Ports of call

Hilo, Hawaii

3 out of 5
Very lame excursion visiting a terrible zoo, macadamia store and a waterfall. Went for the waterfall hike and only had 50 minutes there.

Lahaina, Maui

4 out of 5
Really enjoyed the whale watching tour. Saw many humpbacks. The small town was cute and a good place to pick up gifts.

Honolulu, Oahu Did not visit port

Stayed on ship for spa day

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
This is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. The helicopter ride over Jurassic Park area and the canton was incredible.

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

5 out of 5
Loved swimming with sharks and stingrays and the private island visit with Moana Adventures. Also, the Intercontinental does a $65 daypass that includes a 2-course lunch

Moorea, French Polynesia

4 out of 5
Intercontinental daypass provided a lovely day. Could snorkel, kayak, visit turtles and dolphins. Very near port.

Papeete, Tahiti

3 out of 5
Decent shopping but Paul Gauguin museum has been closed since 2015

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Back-to-backand the staff made it seamless.
