Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Hawaii

The 15 day cruise out of San Francisco was a convenient cruise choice because no air travel was needed. The ship and all the ammenities were all that was expected and more. The entire staff on Grand Princess was professional, friendly, and concerned about each passenger. The days at sea were filled with activities that appealed to a wide range of interests. The only problem was the poor weather, which there is no control over.

dream vacation for the both of us by cruzaholic

Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Hawaii

this was a fabulos trip from beginning to end. Iteniary was great with exception of ensenada, with all the things going on in mexico, loved the 4 day crossing by sea to the islands, visiting each island for 4 days and then returning with 4 days crossing back. would maybe reccommend that the cruise line look into picking one of the islands to do an overnight so that passengers can get a day and night feel for the islands as there are so many things to see and do and you just dont seem to have enough time in port to do so. food and service on this ship were excellent both in horizon court and donatello restaurant. Played casino daily, and as with all ships very hard to win on slots, and tables, alwyays amazed at how those dealers can have those hot streaks that they do, know that players cant, entertainment in show room just so-so in comparison to other ships and cruise lines, not bad but could have been lot better, same old, same old comics, hypnotists, jugglers, etc. All in all a fantastic time with lots of memories

14 day Hawaiian Cruise by petem6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Hawaii

After checking in we were sent off to wait for an hour before getting on the ship. The stop in Mexicor was really not long enough to do anything, and then it delayed in Honolulu by having to go through immigration. We didn't get off the ship until 11:30. The staterooms were very nice and clean. The TV remote had to be held up high to change channels or volume. There alwasys seemed to be bathrooms out of order around the ship, especially the womens room by the Vista lounge, A couple of the jacuzzis were also out of order for most of the cruise. The Scholarship at sea series was great. We reaaly enjoyed the talks by John (naturalist) and Elizabeth. The nightly entertainment was OK. I liked the first comedian, the magician, the pianist, the impressionist, and the floor shows were good. Some of the staff was always friendly but the majority of them just seemed to ignore you. I will probably not take another Princess cruise. This was my first, after traveling with Norwegian several times. Their buffet is set up where it does not bog down, the menu was more varied, and the food was spicier. I guess my expectations were too high. I had thought Princess was supposed to be one of the best cruise lines. The price is higher but I did not find the overall experience to be any better.

We liked the effort to keep the ship clean, especially the disinfecting of the public areas and the emphasis on hand washing. The crew was just wonderful. Plenty to do on board. Felt like security was excellent.

Exceptional cruise by PAPERBKWRITER

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Century / Destination: Hawaii

First off I'm not a rookie and have done 25+ cruises. The crew on Century is exceptional in every respect. Rich, the CD, was everywhere and very approachable. He is the best I've had on any cruise. Marie, from the entertainment staff, helped me plan activities for our large Cruise Critic group. (M+G plus 2 slot pulls and 2 MDR lunches) and send out invitations for everything. Lots to do on the many sea days with seminars, craft classes (June who supplied materials for guests to make island leis) ukalie lessons along with the usual triva, marraige game and bingo. Great entertainment with better than average cruise ship shows. The food was the best, especially the buffets. The only negitives: the ship needs a face lift and much of the furniture is badly worn and needs replacement but the ship is very clean. And some kind of illness went thru the ship as several crew members in our world were sick and both me and DW and many people we met got sick. Not the Norvo but a sore throat and bad head cold type . They were working to sanitize the ship and this is just something every cruise ship has to deal with at times. Everything considered I'd reccommond Century.

Boooo!!! by littlemermaid

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Century / Destination: Hawaii

First of all our rooms weren't ready upon boarding. And we boarded pretty late about 330 pm. Then we departed way past our scheduled time of 5pm. It was more like 920pm. Which made the captain have to make up for lost time. Let's just say I thought I was on a rollercoaster not a cruise ship. Although the state room was pretty nice the vessel itself is in need of some repair.

The entire experience was wonderful by MarilynOLott

I would definitely cruise again on this ship. Everything was excellent. The staff were outstanding, and the food, entertainment, and shore excursions offered were excellent. I couldn't have asked for anything more. I would strongly encourage anyone considering a cruise to book with Celebrity.

Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

The food was not good. There was not a big selection. The crew was not like on the other ships. They did not have to work for their gratuity, it was automatic. The room was so small we could'nt move.

poor dining experiences by carolinacr89270

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

The dining rooms did not offer the quality of food expected, and the quality of service was lacking. quanity yes, but quality, no The ship is nicely done, and very attractive. Our room was small, but we had asked for only a "guaranteed room. It was attractive, and very comfortable, just small. Staff was not as friendly as those we had incountered on numerous cruises with Royal Caribbean line. Enjoyed the entertainment, and several good classes given.

Very nice ship, good service although crew was not very happy. Food could have included more "American style" dishes and a sandwich station. There was no non alcoholic option for the in room welcome champagne or for the celebration packages.

Hawaiian Cruise by Snowbirdcruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

We recently cruised on the NCL ship, Pride of America , through the Hawaiian Islands. We experienced four different ports during our seven day cruise. We reserved a rental car at each port so we could explore the islands on our own and not have to worry about a group of people. Each island that we visited had a lot to offer and the cruise gave us plenty of time to explore. Sailing was at night while we were sleeping, so each morning we woke up in a new place! This was the best way to see different islands and not have to pack up your suitcases and fly to another island. It was a great cruise, food was good, and very good entertainment. Purchased drinks were expensive to buy and a "service charge" was added to each bill. It was a great way to see Hawaii for the first time.

Our cabin wndow was obstracted by small boat and can not see the ocean. If we know it is like that we can just get an inner cabin instead iit is less expensive.

The ship for the nearly dead by GAcruiser24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Zaandam / Destination: Hawaii

I didn't enjoy this ship very much due to a variety of reasons. Primarily it was extremely boring, being that you are at sea most of the time you need proper and engaging entertainment on board. The average age is 74 so if you are retired and in this age group this cruise line is the one for you! However if you are looking for music, parties and dancing definitely NOT. The food in the the lido deck which is available most of the day was extremely average and it was repetitive same food every day, to the point where you didn't know what to eat by day 4.The food was usually cold and the plates scolding burn your hands hot, so that sucked. However, the food in the dinning room for the seated dinner was very good, great variety, tasty meals and nice setting. The staff aboard the Zandam was fantastic I don't have any complains from room Stuart's, dinning attendants or any other member that served or picked up after me. They always had a smile and were extremely helpful.

nice cruise, but could be better in details by experienced

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Century / Destination: Hawaii

2x5 days at sea is far too much.To go to Ensenada at 8pm and leave at 11.30pm is the biggest joke I have ever seen.Who in a sane mind goes into a Mexican city by night! While the overall cruise was OK,the ship shows its age in every corner.Buffet often cold food, refill took an eternity while the supervisors were bystanding idling.Last 3-4 days some food items were not available anymore.Cheap shot!Don't expect it from an "upscale ship". Somehow disappointed from Celebrity.

Okay Cruise on a Tired Ship by Hawaii24702956

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Century / Destination: Hawaii

I found the ship to be in need of refurbishment. While accomdations were adequate and the food was good and more than enough of it, the carpeting was old, torn in places, and in need of cleaning. The wait staff however were excellent. No complaints there. The entertainment was varied and was what I expected. I didn't care for some of the seminars that were there only to sell me a service or product. In all the trip was too long for the short time we were actually in the Islands.

A tired ship by ELDavidson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Century / Destination: Hawaii

Over all the food and service were excellent. Wish I would have known that we could have done this way as the trip home was boring. This ship is showing it's age. The furniture in our suite was old and worn out. One of the drawers fell apart every time I opened it, if I would have had glue I could have fixed it. Much of the furniture around the ship is also old and worn out.
