Baltic Cruise.July 28 - August 6, 2018 on the Seabourn Ovation by KSH

Loved the cruise, I think the best of the three we've taken with Seabourn in the last seven years.

Love the Med and Adriatic by ericesg

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Embarkation and disembarkation were absolutely effortless. Our suite was spotless, and it seemed that someone straightened it every time we left for even a moment. The staff ship-wide is friendly and helpful. The entertainment in the Princess Theater could use a little beefing up, but we were never a loss for something fun to do. My wife and I loved the movies under the stars and the occasional lecture. As we're vegetarians (but not vegans), we hope the vegetarian entree selections increase in the dining rooms. All-in-all, we loved the cruise, the ports, the ship, the staff, immensely.

Good itinerary and entertainment but dinner in dining room has gone down dramatically by richb395b

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Beginning embarkation and final disambarkation excellent. Embarkation in ports suffered from poorly staffed security as long lines and only one scanner of two manned. Cruise director, staff and entertainment excellent as was most of the service staff. Omnipresent load music in Windjammer, even at 5:45 AM, and on deck by pool. Great itinerary. Overpriced excursions containing large groups making it impossible to hear guides; the prices charged should have justified “whispers .” At least one bus was packed as close as airline economy seats. Air conditioning was not always used even during extremely hot weather. Dining room food on previous cruises was very good however food on this cruise was mediocre in quality and poor selections. Wait staff was excellent and concerned that you get a good experience.

What a great trip!!! by wegek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Honestly, the itinerary was phenomenal and I had a great vacation. The representative from was useless. She was unavailable and never returned calls. I used for the benefit of my Delta card, but I wouldn’t again in the future. It was a 3rd party booking and being that my rep was unavailable it made handling questions and arrangements a little more complicated. I don’t like being negative, however, Theresa Pratt was just not worth the extra miles I received due to some aggravation I had to handle with the cruise.

Kids loved it! by smrocco

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We traveled with our two children and family friends who also had two children. The kids aged between 5-8 years. The kids were obsessed with the boat and all of the fun activities on board. The adults enjoyed the shows. Our favorite activity as a family was karaoke. The kids favorite were the slide, laser tag, rock climbing wall and the pools.

No longer the Celebrity Cruises we used to know and enjoy a lot. by yaprr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

If you are just starting to cruise and are middle age and above, you would find Celebrity a superior cruiseline. However, if you had been cruising before up to the end of the last decade, you will notice the deterioration in the quality of the onboard experience, especially in the food and in the entertainment, and even in the resource speakers.

Great Baltic Cruise! by Erin08

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Eclipse / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This was a super cruise with interesting and appealing ports of call - would recommend it wholeheartedly! We really enjoyed working with Raymond Wright from who helped us with the booking as well as several questions along the way. We booked early enough (October 2017 for a July 2018 sailing) that we could watch the excursion offers from and pick up some good sale prices. Ray was more helpful with information about the cruise than the Celebrity website (which does not work well on tablets, and admittedly so by Celebrity staff). He also had good suggestions for hotel bookings in Amsterdam though we ended up finding a great hotel there on our own.

British Isles 2018 by SCHH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Everything was good except for the fact that British Airways lost our luggage. Mine was delivered to me on board in Liverpool, 5 days into the cruise. Marcie's luggage never made it to the ship. It was picvked up in Savannah, GA 15 days later.

Norway by hoffdave

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Journey / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

If want to see wonderful scenery, a great cruise.(Hope for good weather which we had, otherwise would be a real disappointment) Ports are small Norwegian villages mostly catering to tourists which in this case is ok as they don't, most of them, feel overly touristy. Azamara a good value, above par food, excellent service, ok included wines and spirits, ok entertainment (some good, some not so good). The ship is not the destination as on larger vessels, rather the ports visited.

I don't think I'm the target audience for this cruise by eolyn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Oosterdam / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I'm in my 30s and perhaps that is the problem, I know that we are not the target audience for this cruise. We went with my father in law who is in a wheel chair and I will say that they did a reasonably good job at making things work for him. I suspect better than other lines. Their ground staff was in constant confusion and no one really knew what was going on, getting things resolved took multiple phone calls. Our pre-cruise hotel was oversold and holland completely dropped the ball on that and the transfers. The post cruise transfer was also really poorly managed and required standing the sun for 3 hours with our bags. But - they did have options for people in wheel chairs and it more or less worked out. At one port, they didn't have any employees in the terminal and sent us the wrong direction killing 30 minutes of our tour. The activities onboard were the worst I've ever experienced. I don't know if the cruise director has any additional staff helping her, but I only ever saw her. They didn't really schedule any activities, certainly nothing after 8pm. Many days were spent reading since there was nothing to do other than seminars trying to get your money or live classical music. Trivia was only scheduled in the middle of dinner every day. no Karaoke. no other little things to do to pass the time. Feedback was provided via their mobile "app" but no one ever followed up. Speaking of the mobile app, it's not a mobile app, but a web page really. Carnival (their parent company) has a brilliant mobile app which includes chat and other feature and the ability to message people. While holland has this function, it doesn't notify the other person, which makes it useless. The food and service was second to none, mostly. Things are a bit confusing since they try to offer additional service over other lines - like you can't put food on your own plate at the lido, they get you drinks and such, but they don't have the staff to really handle this efficiently, so I ate breakfast without drink 2 or 3 times. Being a bit more pushy would have likely worked to help me. High end food options were everywhere, smoked salmon on the lido buffet in the morning, real, quality lobster tails in the main dining room, etc. Note that breakfast in the main dining room was actually a bit worse than the lido breakfast. It didn't have any additional options, actually less options. All in all, it was a good cruise, but I don't think I'm their target audience. I wouldn't pay a premium for this cruise over NCL for example.

Breakaway to the Baltic Sea - Awesome Ship, Awesome Ports, Horrible NCL Service by thomastx

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The Breakaway is a great ship. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise as a whole. Don't expect much from the food or service from NCL, and you won't be disappointed. You don't need to buy an excursion for any port besides St. Petersburg, as all can easily be done on your own. Plan and know your transportation options and sight destinations beforehand. Be ready to GO GO GO, as you have 5 days straight in ports, and a lot of time and attention is needed to manage your travel, stay on time, and ensure you don't miss the ship. Plan to do a lot of walking. There were six in our group, and everyone from age 10 to 56 loved it. Our weather in late July was amazing. Mostly sun with temps in 80s throughout the Baltics, which was generally better than average. Throughout the cruise, we experienced less than 5 total minutes of rain. The Baltic Sea was amazingly smooth throughout the cruise, except for about 3 windy hours leaving Helsinki. In general, we loved the ship, loved the ports, loved the cruising, but was given poor service and nickel-and-dimed by Norwegian Cruise Lines the whole way. I would do this cruise again in a heartbeat, but find another cruise line than NCL.

Great Cruise and a Beautiful Ship! by dflorek

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Seaview / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I Loved the Seaview Ship!!! It was the best cruise I've ever been on. Completely Modern and brand new in June. This ship had a lot of people on it - 5,000 yet, there was always room. The main issue I had with the Large Pool and Nightly Entertainment was the Sound Volume. It was extremely loud. The Dinners were good in the dining room, but not great. The food in the Market Place and Buffet was wonderful. Usually at night or early morning, I like to watch a little TV. There was only 2 English Channels of News. There were no sitcom or TV shows in English. There were all other languages. Storage in the room was limited. On a different cruise line, they were able to put storage over the bed. Since people were getting on and off the ship the whole week at different ports, I believe they rearrange rooms. This was not a big problem, but 2 nights I hear lots of banging around in the middle of the night. I think they were rearranging the furniture.

Fantastic Trip! by Kas06

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Cruise was great, stops were great. only issue was the main dining room food was not great. I think RC has lowered the standard in the main dining room so that you will buy the paid dining. (annoying). Also, my husband brought a watch on board - was given the wrong watch and it is a nightmare to get resolved.

Easily best of Oasis class by bellatrix1001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Symphony is easily the best. New additions far surpassed expectations. QUICK HIGHLIGHTS: Too many things to name really... the shows, the food (Jamie's!), the destinations. The Escape Room was AMAZING (we had probably done over 10-15 on land and this was the best) Laser tag was great (gets crowded, expect to wait in line at least 45-60 mins) Water slides are great and generally no wait while docked ;) Windjammer lunches were better than expected. Kudos to your Butter Chicken. THE BAD: The service continues to go down IMHO. Fewer people in the waiter industry spoke legible English. The bartenders (generally Eastern-European) were not the friendliest bunch so we mostly got a drink and walked away from the bar. Had much better experiences on other RC ships. New Seafood restaurant was awful. Horrible bread. Gross, oily calamari. Worst lobster I've had. One person in our party never got their Whoopie Pie dessert and was told it'll take "30 mins" after they brought everyone else's. Compared to the amazing caliber of other restaurants on board, this was such a disappointment. Our room location was THE WORST. We were right above embarkation bridge so be ready to awaken at 6AM to noises of the ship falling apart. And right above us was the jazz club so you'll hear the subwoofer until midnight. The room itself was excellent but clearly made for a deaf person. We barely got any sleep.

Wonderful Mediterranean cruise fun time for me and my spouse along with great Port of calls. by jvtull

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

A wonderful Mediterranean cruise fun time for me and my spouse along with great Port of calls (first European cruse). We enjoyed the food and the staff was great. Did not hang out by the main pool area spent our time in the Solarium area, ok, but at times we got a whiff of odor from the restroom if you were lounging near it when someone entered. We have cruse the Caribbean a lot. The late-night parting on this trip was not so much but it was not for a lack of trying, Not a party crowd more laid back. Again, still had a great time on Jewel of the Sea
