Ports wonderful; Ship disappointing by resmith79240773

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape

This Norwegian cruise was not up to par with others I have been on. Ship too crowded. Cheaped out on little things (like salt & pepper shakers in the buffets).

quiet and relaxing cruise by SandrainAmerika

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Queen Victoria

First time Cunard cruisers, we like it quiet and we do not like to be approached about ordering drinks all the time, so this cruise was perfect for us. Food was excellent we had real china no plastic plates (besides by the pool deck) Good variety of food in the dining room and Lido deck (loved all the sushi options, fresh fish, smoked salmon, lots of good bread options and great cheese. People got dressed for breakfast (enjoyed that we did not see any Pjs running around on). The cruise is not for everyone, not many young kids or young folks but very quiet and relaxing.

This was my first time in Europe and I'm so glad I did this cruise in order to maximize my time in Europe and visit several cities. My husband and I had an amazing time, and we are still talking about how wonderful this trip was.

Wonderful ship! by MexCindy7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Oasis of the Seas

The Oasis is a beautiful ship and the food was very good and the service was great. The shows were outstanding. It is hard to see much of Rome or the Amalfi Coast in the little time provided. Choose your shore excursions wisely.

Never Again. Worst Cruise Ever by juanjo52837360

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Smeralda

I think Costa are well aware of the poor service they provide to passengers. The treatment of passengers is despicable by most of the workers who laugh at the passengers. The staff is not qualified to work with the general public. Any kind of complaint to the staff is answered by saying that it is the passenger's fault. Unacceptable. On the first day we had a presentation of what the cruise would be like. By that time we had already had some disappointment with the staff and we had only been on board for a few hours. The person who made the presentation to us, displaying arrogance and ignoring the passengers, told us that life on board is very hard and we had to understand that sometimes the crew did not feel like smiling. An incredible presentation card, but it was a clear warning of what awaited us and what we had already noticed in the few hours that had passed since boarding. On several occasions the waiters disregarded us and told us that we didn't know what we wanted, but that was the general tone of the trip, the passenger is never right and if something goes wrong it is their fault, as we were told several times. Overcrowding in the restaurants, bars, pools, elevators, etc. Non-existent customer service. There is no place to complain or make a claim. There is no customer service staff, we did not see any responsible person from the crew because they do not show their face. We tried to make a claim about the quality of the service on the first day and they told us that they would put it in the system and contact us, which of course did not happen. A family member had an accident in the pool, which we reported and they did not contact us either. In general the attention received is shameful. The captain was non-existent throughout the cruise. There are so many examples of disrespect, lack of service, and irresponsibility on Costa's part that when I remember it, I feel like crying.

Really enjoyed the 2 bedroom suite and amenities that Sky level provides. Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen worth the added cost.

Itinerary and ship itself were beautiful, Costa not so much by agitto3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Costa Toscana

We used vacations to book 2 rooms for my family of 5 (my husband and I, 22yo son, 20yo daughter and 16 yo daughter). They put my husband in a room with my daughter and me with my son and other daughter, because according to , you need to be at least 25yo to have a room yourself or with minors. That is not the case and that started a domino effect of issues with the 2 drink packages that I purchased, that I ended up being mandated that I buy my entire family a rink package or no one gets a drink package. I just wanted my husband and I, that were obviously going to be sharing a room, to get a drink package, my kids did not need a package (soda or otherwise). The lowest quality of alcohol was part of the package, upcharged for Absolute and Jack Daniels. Ice cream was not part of the cruise, it was additional (typical of cruises to have it included). There was no music at any of the pools at ANYTIME??!! Dinner was not as any other cruiseline I've been on and expected very different menu being on a Italian cruiseline. More about presentation being pretty that quality of food.

The cruise was relaxing. Nice large ship with plenty to do. I highly recommend a balcony room. it was so nice getting away from the crowds and chillaxing with a cocktail on the balcony.
