Ship is in great shape with some minor wear in some rooms. However, this is the last cruise before it goes in for rehab.

Lots to see! by jayfortlage

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Ship was a very manageable size. Dining rooms, buffet and public indoor spaces needed to be better air conditioned. It was too warm inside the ship almost everywhere but in my stateroom.

Less than expected by dacowley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I was not able to use my key card to buy anything on ship. Embarrassed several times when tried to make purchases. Could not exit ship either on last day as I had to reconcile gratuities. Guest services stated my credit card would not go through. I contacted my bank and they stated problem was on Carnival's end. Luckily I had cash in wallet to pay so I could get off ship. Again, another humiliating moment. I was not able to board ship until day 3 in Monte Carlo as my flight from Portugal to Barcelona was cancelled due to strike at airport. I thought Carnival might do something special since we lost 2 days but they did not. I asked for 2 vouches at steak restaurant and was told "NO". I will not be cruising with Carnival again. I have cruised with Royal Caribbean twice and they treat you like royalty.

nice boat but no time to enjoy boat or tours by luvstotravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Took this cruise based on ports of call but ended up wishing we didn't have so many. Had no time to enjoy being on boat. Plus having to taxi an hour or 1 1/2 hours into city then same going back to boat took all our time away from enjoying each city. Especially Rome which took 1 1/2 hrs there and 1 1/2 hrs back to boat. Only 3 1/2 hours to experience Rome! Pisa and Florence was the same with only 30 min to enjoy Pisa and 3 hours to enjoy Florence then getting rushed back to boat. And those tours will leave you! Between an early wake time, traveling into cities, rushing through, panicking about getting back to boat later in evening, then dinner, then to bed to do it again early next day leaves one extremely tired! Everyday was rushed except the last which was our only sea day. Naples had the only port you could walk right off boat and be in city but that is one dirty, disgusting city. I'm planning another trip overseas but not a cruise. We will enjoy the cities at our own pace without being rushed through. I liked having not to unpack on the boat but hated not experiencing the cities. Royal Caribbean was fine and did a good job. I was impressed with Liberty with the main complaint being they allow smoking all through the promenade and specific other places on boat. The smoke doesn't just stay in one place, it ends up all over with my clothes smelling of smoke also. The dinners were fine also but because we had to take the 9:30pm seating, we were going to bed with full bellies. We ended up eating dinner earlier in the Windjammer by the third night and what a nice surprise to find absolutely delicious food of every kind. We loved all the varieties and everything was really good. That's where we dined till cruise ended. If you get a room overlooking the promenade like we had, you will not be going to bed early because midnight parades with extremely loud music will keep you up! Bring your ear plugs!

Tired, dark ship with strange decoration by MotherDaughter

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Now we know why Carnival is less expensive. Itinerary was the reason we chose this cruise. We cruised with Princess to the eastern Med and really enjoyed the ship and amenities --like movies in your cabin and under the stars at poolside. But, the Legend was boring -- maybe a movie was shown in a VERY uncomfortable theater but then that same movie was shown over and over in the cabin the following day. Food got kind of monotonous. Strange that in the dining rooms where most of the place settings were rather formal, they then served coffee from those plastic thermos servers! Entertainment seemed be mostly comedians with a lame magic show one night. I guess there were some singers/pianists but they'd really have to be pretty good to keep us there. We won't be taking another Carnival cruise.

Vacation of a Lifetime by mjgasch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The Spirit was a very clean ship, well maintained and quite modern. Thought the rooms were spacious enough and had adequate storage for clothes and luggage. The beds were quite comfortable and while at sea often enjoyed sitting in the room looking out the balcony window and simply reading and relaxing.

UNADVISED SCHEDULE CHANGE by alejimos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

During the 3rd day on board I found out that Royal Caribbean decided not to stop in Athens, but in Mykonos instead. When I went to customer service, they confirm the schedule change and told me it had to do with a possible strike on Athens, and also told me that they placed a letter at the desk at the time of embarkment. Visiting this port was one of the main reasons for me to take this cruise. I think they should advise all passengers of this change BEFORE getting on board, so that you can decide if still want to take the cruise or not. Once you are on board there isnt much you can do DISAPOINTED ABOUT HOW THEY MANAGED THE ISSUE.

This ship was recently renovated so it was in great shape, the ship and the staterooms were fresh and very pleasant. I would sail on Legend of the Seas again.

Average Cruise by vstegall

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I was surprised to learn that the ship was not new, it was the old Destiny ship that was renovated. There was an order in the room as well as the hallways at times. The excursions on the ship were great but the activities on the ship were average.

Boarding in Barcelona was the most organized and quickest we have ever experienced, as welll as disembarking. We would not hesitate to book the Equinox again.
