Anniversary Splurge by bob2112

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

30th Anniversary cruise so we splurged into the Haven experience. I can say that it's well worth it. From the moment we arrived through disembarkation we were treated to great service and amenities. It may have spoiled us. To hear my wife say it was her best trip ever made the entire experience worth it. No regrets.

Satisfying, Pampering cruise by jacastillo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Pleasant , pampering , enriching experience! Points for improvement: More sea days-to better enjoy ship’s amenities like spa, pool and jacuzzi, relaxing time to dine and chat and meet new friends. Paying for the Spa package will not be maximized when passengers are out most of the time to experience and explore places. Food choices- Including Japanese food in the main dining room menu would be highly appreciates like ramen , Vietnamese Pho noodle soup, MORE HOT SOUP DISHES - there are only 2 available. Besides, there are many asian guests are present. Tour Guides- essential in the appreciation of tour; bombarding with historical facts or info over load is also not healthy. Giving highlights better. Bringing guests to stores to patronize and listen to unnecessary info is not encouraged. Excursion package- should be more thought of. As a whole, the trip though really hectic and tiring ( not enough time to enjoy eating because of early morning activities ) is an eye- opener on enjoying life at its best.

Very Nice. by Mariacaridad

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Wish some of the gym classes were more inviting. Maybe Zumba. There wasn’t enough room for the ping pong tables. Would love pool tables. The cruise directors presence was not felt. I really enjoyed myself overall.

Trip was good Customer Service is appalling, shocking and disgraceful by PaulLesley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I expected a reply to my email which was sent to Celebrity asking for an explanation on an additional charge added to my final emailed bill, this charge was not on the bill I received when leaving the ship. I sent five emails none of Celebrity had the curtsy to reply too and I still have no idea of why you charged me $28. It would have been nice to have received an answer to my query. It seems that they consider it to be an acceptable manner to treat past customers, it’s surprising anybody rebooks with them if this is the way they treat them.

CELEBRITY met all my expectations . by Alaska67

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was a port intensive European cruise to 10 ports in Spain, France and Italy as well as Gibraltar, UK in 12 days. The Celebrity Reflection is a beautiful ship with friendly, courteous staff. We have sailed with Celebrity many times and for many years. It continues to exceed our expectations!

Superb cruise on the EDGE by harryboy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Very enjoyable cruise. Staff were excellent, food was of great quality. Very good atmosphere on ship. Staff were very friendly but very professional, which made the cruise even more memorable. Only disappointment was not being able to disembark by tender at Santa margarita due to bad weather and therefore unsafe.

The Amazing and Beautiful Celebrity Edge and its Service Exceeded Expectations by JohnsonL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Edge / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We expected Food, Service, the stateroom, the beauty of the ship, embarkation, debarkation, all to be excellent. The ship the staff the port facilities met or exceeded seated all of these expectations. An exceptional surprise, universally exceeding our expectations, was the quality of the service, the friendliness of the staff and crew, the excellent service from our cabin Steward Wayan, the dining room staff, Waiter Denis, assistant Dwight, sommelier, and Specialty dining staffs, Tari, the martini bar staff Anthony and JayDe, staff that we met in the Oceanview dining area were all exceptional. Always greeting with a smile, often, the second time, by name. There were frequent requests to assist, to bring something, immediately recognizing that you were waiting to order a drink, preparation speed and drink quality at the martini bar that supported the central bar concept, refill of wine glasses at dinner, etc., these were outstanding and go well beyond just the sheer beauty of the ship or even the excellent quality and variety of food. We have enjoyed good cruises on good ships with good staffs but Celebrity Cruises you have outdone yourself! Our most sincere thanks to the Celebrity Cruise Corporation, to the Captain and the senior officers for encouraging this outstanding performance, and to the staff for delivering on all things large and small that made our every moment on the ship a true pleasure.

Seabourn overshadows its competitors again! by Laurielew

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Encore / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We chose Seabourn again, because we had tried other lines - Silversea and Regent. On those other lines the excursions were great, we were not impressed with the food or service. Seabourn had recently hired a new chef for the pool deck evening dining venue - called Earth and Sea. Phenomenal food. Better than any restaurant we have in Seattle or anywhere else. After trying the other dining choices, all of which were good, we ended up eating at Earth and Sea every night. By the end of the cruise word had spread, and it was hard to get a table there. We weren’t impressed with the Thomas Keller dining room…oddly pretentious and mediocre food. They do offer exceptional wine by the glass and wine pairings at Keller, which is a nice addition. We had a much better steak at Earth and Sea. The cruise director was very entertaining and engaging. The staff was warm and attentive. The ship is beautiful - with staterooms larger than the ones on their former smaller ships. Most, but not all, of the land excursions were very good. Seabourn didn't offer an opportunity to rate the land excursions that the other cruise lines do. I think that's a missed opportunity to get valuable feedback, particularly where passenger safety is concerned. In addition to a pool and hot tubs, there are many activities offered throughout the day. The spa management seemed a bit disorganized, but the services were good. We have already decided to a Seabourn cruise for 2020 and 2021. Highly recommend.

Oceania has gone downhill in customer experience. Marina management is horrible! by jborges1965

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Marina / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Oceania has gone downhill in customer experience. Marina management is horrible! We had been on the sister ship Riviera a few years back and the service and attention to detail were excellent, because of that experience we decided to book on the sister ship Marina. Riviera's experience made us want to come back, however, the Marina experience was horrendous and will make us choose other higher-end cruise lines as opposed to returning to Oceania. First, we opted for a Penthouse with butler service. Per Oceania, this included helping with unpacking and packing, laundry services, in-room dining and other amenities. There is no way they could even deliver on the unpacking promise as our butler didn't even introduce himself to us. We finally met our Butler on the second evening when we tried to contact him to get some glasses for wine. (on the Riviera the staff made an effort to introduce themselves to us, not the other way around) After several attempts, he finally responded and came and introduced himself, and let us know that he had many cabins to take care of and one guest suite that had paid "a lot of money" and was being very demanding and taking up all his time. I told him we wouldn't be using any of the butler services but only had one request, that he makes sure that two fresh wine glasses and two fresh champaign flutes be placed in our room every day (that was our only request!). He left and brought some in... we never saw him or fresh glasses per our request again, until the last night when he came in to ask about our experience and asking for a good survey. Are you kidding me? I asked. I soon realized this wasn't an isolated incident, rather than helping guests most staff just sat around chit-chatting with each other while guest needs went ignored. This ship can't have that many bad employees, this ship has bad management that doesn't pay attention! Management too just stands around chit-chatting while guests have open conversations around them about the horrible service, I witnessed several of these occasions and not once did management engage with these clients. You have to find people if you want any service (with exception of Grand Dining and Toscana). As for using a Som... good luck number one, they are not knowledgeable and number two they will pour your first glass and good luck in finding them after that. Everyone has some bad employees, but this isn't about bad employees this is about bad management that sees guests having bad experiences and instead of engaging and correcting the issue they turn their heads and ignore the issues. It's as if the guests are coming into their home and interrupting their fun. Rivieria service made me come back, Marina service lost me forever!

7 Night Western Mediterranean Trip by bpecce

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Bellissima / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Hard to get through to front desk. Difficult to get attention. Shouldn't have gotten that Duplex suite due to my torn meniscus was hard to move up and down stairs and no concierge or Butler although I paid more for this room that my friend in yacht club suite. Tried to switch but the Yacht club concierge was rude to me. Stating " I already told you there are no rooms!" But my friend got one the second day.

Disappointed with Ship by scarletsmummy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

this is our 4th cruise on Royal caribbean in the last 12 months (one on Navigator 2 on Explorer and this one) and Independence is so far the worse RC ship we have been on . Stock levels in bars were terrible ,we could not get John Smiths until i complained to the beverage manager and they Miraculously found some , most of the bars did not have fresh lemon for our Gin and we had to hunt that down . above all it was our first and last cruise on Independence and i hope Anthem is better next year
