Even better than expected. by benck

The weather was unseasonably warm, which really helped this early season cruise. Each stop was unique and Tallin was especially fun with its small alleys and hidden shops. With the exceptions of Berlin and Stockholm the boat docked nearly in centers of towns! Of course the riches of Russian Czars and churches was amazing. All tours were well organized, but I would expect a cruise during high season would be very crowded.

Celebrity Silhouette 4/23-Nancee & Bruce by bnrein

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Silhouette / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The cruise was wonderful. It is a beautiful ship. Food in main dining room was good. Specialty restaurant's were better. When I first picked this cruise I wasn't

sure on the  ports. But they were very interesting and each one had something different to offer. Went to the Eskegov & Kronberg Castle. Rode the sandworm to the spit in Skagen. The whole town came out to greet the ship and they shot off cannons and the school band played in Fredericia, Denmark. Loved the Martini bar on the ship. Ended in Amsterdam going out to the tulip gardens and fields. Will cruise with Celebrity again.

Norwegian Stinks! by mldeaver

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Late to ports, tours shortened but the price not changed, missed port, disorganized launch access, food not changed in breakfast buffet line.  We should be Gold level members but Norwegian has lost 5 of the 8 cruises we have taken with them so we were denied the Gold member rewards.  We complained onboard and were told we had to prove we took those 5 cruises but gave no suggestions as to how to do that!Sad

been on princess twice to mexico, holland america once to alaska, but norwegian star worst ship we've been on. inferior crew (steward was good, several dining room wait staff were good) overall - discourteous and unfriendly. worst of all, food was poor in comparison with princess and holland america. never again.

Improvements needed by moywai

Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Shore excursions need to be better organized; we were often late for our excursions.  Worst yet, if the excursion was scheduled for 9 a.m or later and we were late by almost an hour, we would be traveling with an empty stomach for most of the tour.  A good system is to have shore excursion participants assembled in an assigned area then send them ashore as a group.  For example: when we had to have our passport stamped, we should have people lined up according to the time of their tour; the same applies to tendering.

Great Service but Expensive Shore Excursions by blilian75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We liked the Freestyle dining options with no requirements to dress formally, as we like to travel light and don't want to be dragging around gowns and suits. We took the ship's shore excursions in St Petrsburg, Russia, in lieu of doing it ourselves and obtaining our own Russian visa. The first all day tour was ok, but rushed with no oportunities to take good photos. The second day excursion stopped at souvenir shops instead of giving us opprtunity to take photos of the Hermitage and Winter Palace. The stop in Stockholm was very short, from 10 am-3:30 pm only. We did the shore tours ourselves on most of the stops and saw a lot more and saved money.

Great Service and Food by Wayne1937

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

WE received great service and the food was excellent. Cabin service was also excellent. We had a noisy neighbor one night at 2 a.m., but security solved the issue. Entertainment was average but we are tired of seeing the same aerialist routine year after year. The Jean Ann Ryan shows are the same  with so-so dancing and singing. The enrichment lecture was a step down from previous cruises with a monotone delivery by the speaker. We had a tight connection in Boston and missed our domestic connection.Yummy

Wonderful Baltic Cruise by glcchiang

Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We enjoyed our cruise tremendously! Food was delicious, ship and crew were fantastic and the tours were wonderful and informative. Great tour guides! We stayed in a hotel in Stockholm before the trip and the transportation to take us to the hotel and from the hotel to the ship was well organized and went smoothly.

Un viaje inolvidable, conociendo lugares extraordinarios en un crucero de alta calidad. by cmichel75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Ampliamente recomendable el crucero por el báltico. Las ciudades en donde paramos son fantásticos. Copenhagge, Tallin, Helsinki, Estocolmo y watermund.

Rotterdam cruise by miko

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rotterdam Retired / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

This cruise was fantastic.  We received an upgrade to the Neptune suite and the room was absolutely wonderful.  The Neptune lounge was convenient.  All staff were very friendly and learned our names on the second day.  The views were wonderful from our balcony and Norway is just gorgeous.

Should Have Been Better by suedwilliams

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regal Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The itinerary was absolutely fabulous.  The ship is just too big and there are no quiet places to read and relax.  For a 26 day cruise and 4,000 passengers, 2 washers and 2 dryers per side at the very back of the ship is ridiculous.  Spa treatments are extremely expensive and a sales pitch comes with it.  Ship tours are also pricey so we, along with hundreds of others, opted for the Hop-On-Hop-Off option available at most of the ports.  This ship is designed to be efficient and move people, not to relax and enjoy.  My husband and I will take a smaller ship any time we cruise from now on.

Regal Princess-- 26 Night Scandinavia & Russia Transatlantic by abecker5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Regal Princess / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The service and personnel on this ship are the very best. Happy  We had a wonderful time, and the Regal is beautiful.  The weather could have been nicer, or it could have been worse.  A lot of gray days, no fault of Princess.  Since we are residents of Florida, the weather was cooler than we were used to.  Wink

My only complaint about the ship is the towels.  They feel like sandpaper.Angry

Regent # 933 by krook431210

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Our boat was clean, the staff friendly and efficient.  The food was attractive, well prepared and had more than sufficient variety to keep any palate satisfied.. The tours were well done with the exception of horrible crowding at the Hermitage which was not the fault of the Regent Line. We felt the size of the boat and their service was what attracted us to Regent and they did not disappoint.  They used inventive ways to introduce us to the people near our suite with an impromptu cocktail party in the hallway. The end of the cruise made easy by their efficient handling of the baggage.   I was happy enough to book another cruise for next fall.

Norse Legends is a great cruise! by margaretsmartin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ryndam / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We enjoyed our cruise from Harwich, Eng. on the Ryndam.  As always on Holland America Lines, we recieved excellent service, delicious food and a comfortable stateroom. The cruising of the Fjords of Norway was a scenic delight and surpassed all expectations.  We also enjoyed the ports of call.  My only complaint is lack of reasonably priced wifi and mediocre entertainment.  We did enjoy the Duo Adagio.  Would have enjoyed more professionally choreographed shows in the Showtime.  Not a major problem, but worth mentioning.  All in all, we would highly recommend the Norse Legend Cruise.

More Than Advertised by johnihughesocal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

The Regent cruise was much more than "All Inclusive". It was excellent not having to be concerned with a billing process for daily drinks, excursions, etc. More importantly, we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere on board, a function I believe of fewer travelers, implicit service, and spacious  accomadations. The interactions with our cabin steward, Reception, Destination Services, Internet Cafe, and Waite staff were excellent. The excellence of service began long before the cruise with Tricia Kirkbride, our cruise concierge. She met our expectations in every way. Although not directly with the cruise, having a tie in with "Business Air" accomodations added to that relaxed, easy atmosphere.  Obviously we loved our experience, but an area of improvement would be updating the Voyager. Not shabby, but in need of some cosmetic updates. We would highly recommend Regent and would consider traveling with Regent on our next cruise.

Pleasant but disappointing by donfranz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

We are swimmers, but swimming pool is small and was always filled with kids diving/jumping (not allowed) without a monitor. No adult-only swimming area. We found food to be less enticing than on a previous NCL cruise. Disembarking in ports was disorganized. Excursion/Customer service people were rude and unhelpful to passengers who had booked non-NCL tours.

We had an exceptional cabin steward, who made up for the numerous negatives we excerienced.
