Nice cruise; great ports of call. One exception was Venice. Spending only the afternoon, evening and the next morning there really made experienceing the sights difficult. Too many shuttle trips!  I would have rather spent one whole day there. Paying $50 a couple for a shuttle ride into the city was not only unexpected, but irritating as well. With over 18 cruises under our belts, mostly with Celebrity, RCC, and Azamara we have come to expect better with this line.

Costa Cruises really not for Americans by EileenP3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Fortuna / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We were really disappointed with our recent cruise on Costa Fortuna.  The ship was fine and the staff was very nice (mostly) but the other cruisers were extremely rude.  They say Americans are rude - well next to the passengers on this cruise we are absolutely the nicest people on earth.

This was our first time to Europe so the atmostphere on the boat really put a damper on our vacation.

We were also surprised to note that at dinner time, there is only the main dining room or the resturant that you have to pay for.  The buffet was not an option.  Also the only thing available late at night was pizza NOTHING ELSE!

I guess that's all I have to say about it except that Costa should not market to Americans.

HECTIC TOUR OF THE MEITERRANEAN by ARNIESCHINDLER

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

FIRST TIME CRUISING THE  AREA.  .OUR EXPERIENCE  OF LAND TOUR RATHER  THAN CRUISE IS MORE MEMORABLE AS FAR AS SEEING THE PLACES WE WANTED TO SEE.   MOST OF THE TOURS WERE MORE TIME ON THE BUS THAN ACTUALLY SEEING THE  AREA CHOSEN.   THE LAND TOURS INCLUDED  ENTRANCE FEES TO HIGHLIGHTED AREAS  OF STOPS AND NO  PETTY CHARGES EXAMPLE WATER   WHICH SHOULD BE GIVEN ECH DAY IN THE STATEROOM NOT CHARGED AS YOU ARE LEAVING SHIP FOR TOUR.  THE FOOD ASIDE  FROM THE SPECIALTY RESTUARANTS WAS ACCEPTABLE BUT NOT  GREAT.   THE SHOWS WERE FINE AND AFTERR A BUSY DAY WERE TIMED WELL..   ALL IN  ALL WE HAD A NICE TIME. WE ARE NOT TO DIFFICULT TO PLEASE BUT THE NICKEL AND DIMING ANNOYED US.

YACHT CLUB by CMW56

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Splendida / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

WE just got back from our 1 week cruise thru the Westerm Mediterranean. Needless to say we had a wonderful time. I have sailed many ships and this was our 3rd MSC Cruise.  The yacht club was such a unique experience that when we came home I tried to find a MSC Yacht Club to the Baltic seas. We where treated special from the time we arrived at port to the time that we dis-embarked at the end of the trip. Pir dining experience was superb. I would do it ll over again, Great value for what you recieved. If that same class of service was on another ship the cost would be 3xs as much.

Twelve Days at the Independence of the Seas by miled

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We were kind of excited when we enter the cruise line as we always been looking forward to this cruise. Throughout the cruise, we were quite satisfied with the ship crew, their service, their attitude and their friendliness. All the cruises we took, we were quite satisfied with the food . However, with this particular cruise we were very disappointed with the menu on both the buffet and the dinner. I think we don't have to avail ourselves and pay more for the specialty restaurants to eat good and special dishes which were available in other cruiselines. We likewise, surmised that the entertainment you had was quite mediocre. There was only one act every night, there used to be three or more acts before plus some of the performers were boring.Overall, the only saving grace were the excursions we purchased, otherwise, we will consider this cruise a great waste of our money.

A dream come true cruise by lovetocruisefl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We have cruised about ten to fifteen times in the past and had some wonderful experiences on all different cruise lines, but we both agree that this cruise was by far the best.  The staff on the Celebrity Reflection was outstanding.  They were very friendly, got involved and went out of their way to make sure you enjoyed your time.  In particular, our wait staff in the dining room were wonderful, meeting special needs of one of our friends each night and doing so with real concern.  They shared tips for going ashore at the different ports and gave us suggestions for what to try for our meal that night, all of them winding up being excellent tips.  Of course, the ports we went to made a world of difference also as they were just beautiful and exciting and brought history to life for us.  Each of the excursions we took through Celebrity were great and the tour guides the best.  We don't have any complaints at all about this trip and look forward to cruising on Celebrity again.

Terrific!!! Sums it up!!! by AnotherCruzLovr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was my 4th cruise and 1st with Celebrity. It won't be my last!  The ship was beautiful and the crew could not have been more friendly!  Without exception!  All smiles, from the cabin stewards to the officers encountered around the ship. Everything was kept very clean; the food was very good and a nice variety offered each evening.  Ate at Qsine and it was fabulous and VERY fun!  Highly recommend it.  Don't miss Hector's show nightly at the Martini Bar--he is a jewel in the crown of the Reflection with his personality, entertainment and talent.

Best of the Med by AVillager

Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

It's hard to choose a favorite spot, the entire experience was eye opening,  historical, and beautiful.  Here's a view of Barcelona, the old with the new shows how diverse this city is and it was the beginning and end of a great adventure.

Great Cruise with 2 Exceptions by Dontwant

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Loved the free style cruising. My wife and I had our own table next to a window most nights. We were taken care of by great people. 1st oops, we have cruised on Royal Caribbean 4 times and one night we didn't have the same waiter twice and when it came time to get dessert or a second drink no one was around to serve us. Had it been on RC we would have know who to get ahold of. Very unhappy that night. Our excursions were booked through Cruise.Com and they were great. Small manageable group with great guides. Fantastic. Airfare, what a disaster. I didn't like having to wait till so late to fine out what our schedule was. Delta was most unhelpful. In either direction from Atlanta to Rome and back did they seat my wife and I together. We were left to negotiate with other pax to get seats next to each other. I hate Delta now and if we are to do it again we will book our own seats. Delta really ruined the start and end to our vacation.

A La Carte Cruising by BobA2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

10 dollars for a glass of Meridian Chardonnay. Bad food and crowds in the free restuarants. Sky high excursion prices. Too many kids and too much noise. The food in the Cirque de Soliel show was awful. Other than those items, ship was very nice. Adult pool was nice to get away from the kids. Better food in the restuarants that you pay for. Won't go on this cruise line again. Price for the cruise was low but everything adds up fast. And the cabins are tiny.

Overall a good time by scoperguy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Had a good cruise. Was in Aqua Class, which means I ate at Blu regularly Went to the Tuscan Grille one night--the ribeye was OK but not great Went to Ocean Liners and had good meals there twice Unfortunately my stateroom bathroom had a sewer like smell intermittently during the cruise and also the individual in my stateroom before me had a gastrointestinal explosive occurrence which was not entirely cleaned up upon my arrival. Housekeeping did a great job to clean the bathroom and their supervisor was awesome. My bags didnt make it on the ship till the 4th day and the Concierge was exceptional in her demeanor and in helping me with this situation. Overall the food quality I think has gone down a tad, but it is still quite good. The # of activities on board seems to have diminished a bit as well.

Great itinerary, ship and service, but they nickel-and-dime you to death by fiftiescouple

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This is a good cruise line but definitely not "all inclusive". They nickel-and-dime you to death. This was dissapointing, so we'll probably try other cruise lines in the future. We had a lovely time with Celebrity Constellation and the ship was modern, beautiful and clean(I give it 5 stars), but in general we felt they were trying to squeeze every penny possible out of the customers. At every turn they were trying to take your picture or sell you into using one of the "selective" restaurants available. Using just the 24 hr. cafeteria would have been fine for both my husband and I since they provided decent food and a lot of variety. The San Marco restaurant for finner dining was very nice and the food was also decent, although we would only give the food in general a 3 or 3.5 stars. We're not big eaters, so this didn't matter to us too much. I feel that any good hotel nowadays should provide free wi-fi to stay in touch with family via your own phones at the very least. The only way to get it on the boat was to pay an excessively expensive fee to use their own computer area. We chose to go without and rely on my husband's work phone only using 3G, which was very spotty while at sea. The technician tending the area, btw, was less than friendly. Maybe he was tired since it was the end of the day. I give this area one star. (Don't count on using the wi-fi cafes in the ports since you'll probably won't have time to spare after the excursions.) If you're a drinker, you should pay the $50+ per person daily fee to drink all you want. If you're not, you're better off not drinking at all. The prices were excessive but the martinis were great. My husband and I limited ourselves to one drink a day, but personally I would have enjoyed wine with my dinners and a couple of drinks later during the show or while we listened to music in one of the bars since we were on vacation. They need to definitely include sodas and bottled water for free in the cafeteria, and the bottle of water in the room should also be included. They only included water, tea, coffee and juices in the cafeteria. I give this area 2 stars. I would have also enjoyed a massage, but the cost was three times what I normally pay for it, so I passed. I felt that everything on the boat was way overpriced, but the merchandise in the stores was worth looking at. They also had a gallery with paintings that I enjoyed. I give this area 2 stars. The activities and entertainment were great. " Alejandsome" was an outstanding Cruise Director, very funny, friendly and articulate both in English and Spanish (he is Argentinian). I give this area 5 stars. The excursions were outstanding but we didn't use the boat's. We used icruise.com and were very satisfied with the limited size of the groups and the expertise of the guides. The excursions were the highlight of our cruise experience. They are worth every penny and you really miss out if you don't take them. In general, Celebrity Constellation's crew was diverse, well trained, friendly, approachable and professional. I give them 5 stars.

Bucket list cruise by Kody

Ship was perfect size for the islands. Easy on/off. Dinners magnificent. I think Holland America has best food out of all the lines I have cruised on. Highly recommend.

A little disappointed. by ManyTimeCruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Entertainment was repeated. Food was satisfactory, not exceptional - menu was even repeated one evening. Desserts unimaginative. Too many onboard activities were at an extra fee. Employees onboard were exceptional, almost every employee greeted us and were extremely courteous. We had an inside stateroom that our steward kept very clean. But it was quite small - my wife and I could not get ready at the same time without bumping into each other. We have traveled on 12-15 cruises, and this was probably our least favorite.

Queen Elizabeth noy your typical cruise ship by Orlandoflorida

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Queen Elizabeth / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The first thing I noticed upon boarding was the ease ,efficiency, & extremely courteous members of the Cunard team that helped us to get on the ship without any difficulty. We were greeted upon boarding & our luggage was in the room within minutes of arrival. The staff was great., the service was 5 star, & the cleanliness & appearance was fantastic. The balcony room was much better than I had anticipated. The entire experience exceeded my expectations.

Legend of the Seas September 9th-20th 2013 by Minnesotacrew2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This cruise was overall a good experience. Our room, suite 8512 was very loud. We had poor sleep 4 out of 11 nights because of the noise in the room. There was loud mechanical noise coming through the duct work/ceiling area from the kitchen. After the second night, the quit working at 11 and the noise was fine until they powerwashed the deck above us at 3:30 one morning. The staff on this ship was the best in 13 cruises we have taken. The dining room staff A++, the same with our room steward, just outstanding. The ports were very nice and the weather was great. Good food and nice sized ship, just a very loud room. Don't book any room on deck 8 as we heard many complaints about the noise.

Royal Carribean, Navigator of the Seas by ConnieRob

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

A great cruise. Lets get the one negative out of the way - everything is expensive, like every other cruise on the planet, as in a $9 for a house wine at dinner. But the great things way outweigh it. Beautiful ship, impeccable maintenance, large rooms, fabulous staff, inspired excursions, wonderful itinerary, great food, and cool night life and shows. I would certainly sail RC again.

Great vacation by Tahveen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I had an amazing time on Liberty of the Seas sailing on Sept 8th 2013. The ports of calls were a great choice, the excursions were in variety. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation this might not be it, because with 5 ports of calls you are busy every day only one day to catch-up. But if you don't mind being up and on the go you will have a blast. Every port was great the weather was great the variety of excursions offered was great and to match almost every personality.
