Amazing Cruise by melindabrozyna

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The cruise was great. Great locations ang a good fun history lesson. The ship is a bit outdated, but not by much (the ship is going into dry dock in a few month for an overhaul). There was plently of activities to do on the boat.

No recommended for babies by patriciacsf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship was old. The quality of service was not the best I've experienced. I believe that the crew knew that the tipp have already been paid in advance, therefore they do not needed to please the customers. Besides that, the food was poor (pizza and hamburguers not all time avalaible, the dinner did not have special menu - with lobster, for example). Moreover, the entertainment for babies (nursery room) was not all the time open, even during the day. Some times it was not open for playing with parents, only for babysiter service (extra charged).

Loved this cruise! by kelsdawg41

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The crew was fantastic, the ports were so great (although a little more time in some ports would have been nice) and everything was clean and roomy. I would definitely cruise with Holland America again. Their customer service was superb.

Our Roman Holiday by woodsmo58

Sail date: /
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We selected the Legend of the Seas for our honeymoon and were not disappointed. It was the experience we hoped for. We enjoyed our time on and off the ship. We selected the My Time Dining and thoroughly enjoyed the flexibility in our schedules. There is so much to do on the ship, we were never without something fun and/or relaxing to select. The nightly entertainment was simply outstanding. We appreciated the variety of performers brought in from all over the world to delight us. Another bonus was the passengers themselves. There were 60 nations represented which made for lovely interactions with folks from near and far. The ship's size made it easy to connect / reconnect with folks several times throughout the seven-day cruise.

Great ports, horrible cruise line by mgasser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I am rating the cruise as average overall only because my wife and I really enjoyed all of the different ports that we were in. We enjoyed them so much so that we stayed out as long as possible to avoid having to be on the ship because we were so very disappointed in Holland America.

Great cruise! by abbey86

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

It was a great cruise experience, with excellent ports of call, entertainment, food, service, and accommodations. We were new to the Freestyle cruising, so didn't quite bring dressy enough clothes, but still had a blast. Service was great. I do wish we would have had more time at many of the ports, and we were disappointed with the extremely slow disembarkation process (which was communicated too quietly) the morning we left. We picked up luggage tags to disembark at 8:15AM and didn't get off the ship til at least an hour later.

Very rocky cruise by gdawns

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I have cruised a few times before and never have been on a ship that was so rocky. Something had to have been malfunctioning (stabalizers maybe) as the ship was extremely rough. Our last stop was extended for repairs and our last night on ship was very smooth. I was so sick from the motion that I could not eat my dinner at the steak house and wasted money for myself and my friend on this meal. My room was not impressive. None of the food served on the ship was hot when served. Port area stores were all closed in Marsalle and La Speazza and we were not warned of this prior to buying transport tickets to city center. It was storming in Marsalle and the bus driver who stopped to pick us up stated we would have to wait for another bus as he was done. We stood in the rain and wind for over an hour with no cover to even get under. During the day on the ship all but the hamburger and buffet were closed, options for eating very slim. No shops or casino open during the day if you did not go on an excursion. Nothing to do but sleep during the day. Carpet on ship had fuzz balls everywhere all the time. One side of the ship always smelled like sewage. TV falling off the wall in room. Unable to sleep at night from rocking and bar music till 2 or 3 am. Definetly not worth the money that was charged for this cruise.

Worst Cruise Ever!!!!!! by sdeagan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Try to cancel before you sail. I can't believe that we have to pay Carnival in advanced to sail on a ship that they already knew from the 2 other sailings had problems that were not atken care of before they let us leave port. There was a smell of sewage in the public areas of the ship. When I complained they said that it has been going on sincethe ship came out of dry dock and that it is getting worse. The line to get to customer service always a hour long. Poll not working the first day. The food was not good. The room temp in room was over 74 degree with 4 people in it but they did a reading and it was 74 degree so they wouldnt give us fans to scool down the room. Hot!IWhen I got home home asked for some money back because all the problems they said no but we will give you a 15% discount on your next cruise. We are gold members and will never cruise again. They have you by the balls. You pay in advance and they can do whatever they want becausethey wont refund you and can provide you with the worst service and accominadations and you can't do anything. Could you imagine staying at a hotel and this happeneing. First you wouldnt have to pay and second you could leave and stay somewhere else. Shame on you Carnival. You lost 5 good paying loyal customers and I hope you lose more.I gave you a chance 2 times to make it right and you didnt so know I will go to the BBB and then the media. Cruiseonly is not to blame. They have tried to help.

Great Cruise by KristiS1

Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was our first sailing on the Navigator of the Seas, we had an excellent cruise from the food service to the tours and personnel onboard. We took tours every day and we regret we did not enjoy the ship amenities more.

An Amazing Adventure by audreyowens

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I recently sailed on the Navigator of the Seas and it was an Amazing Adventure. The ship was clean. The crew was pleasant. The food was fresh and DELICIOUS! The pool water was as blue as the ocean waters. The public bathrooms were sanitized. The entertainment was well planned and in line with current trends. The crowds were controlled. The dining options were excellent. The Windjammer boasted a fresh food wide open marketplace theme. I enjoyed seeing homegrown favorites i.e., Seattle's Best Coffee Shop, Ben and Jerry's, Johnny Rockets and Pandora's! It reminded me of home, but not enough to make me homesick. I was so impressed with Royal's service that I book two additional cruises - a weekend getaway and another amazing adventure on the Quantum of the Sea. If you're looking for an all inclusive deal this is one to take.

Eastern and Western Mediterranean by danwdooley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We flew into Venice a little early in order to have a little more time to explore that historic city.  We had planned an extra day to be there.  Unfortunately one of our flights was cancelled and so we got into London (for the connection) a day later.  Anyhow, it turned out ok as we did have all of one afternoon to explore Venice and all of the next day.

Compared to our other cruises and particularly with Norwegian Cruse Lines, the Norwegian Spirit is on the level of the other ships we have been on.  No problems with any of the accommodations.  The ship is a bit smaller than some of the others we have been on but all features and facilities were what we have come to expect from our cruising experiences.

Interestingly the majority of the electrical outlets on the ship were of the European style.  Not North American style.  We had the proper adapters with us to mate the two styles so the outlet differences did not create a problem.

We have learned to carry extension cords and a small multi-outlet power strip.  Even with the correct power outlets for our use in the cabins, there never seems to be enough outlets.  Between my laptop, camera battery chargers, e-readers my wife's curling iron and whatever else we might need we do need the extra outlets.

I won't take the time to review all of the shore excursions we enjoyed on that trip.  We visited spots in Italy, Greece, Turkey, France and finally ended at Barcelona.  For some reason the excursion to Rome and the Vatican was a bit on the chaotic side.  I don't know if it was a one time problem or not.  Though the tour guide was friendly and attempted to be helpful and informative but there were several problems experienced with the tour.  The end result was that there were sufficient complaints which resulted in all participants of the tour getting back a very large portion of our payment price for the tour.  The tour was not a wash, by any means.  We still enjoyed it in spite of the problems.

One sea day they set up a German food theme spread on the aft deck.  It is the extra fun things like that which do add to the enjoyment of cruises.
