Not a memorable cruise by jjcole1960

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Ship has been refurnished, but had too many problems during our cruise. The hallway on my floor always had buckets to catch the water that was leaking from the ceiling. Our shower cover top was covered with rust. I was told that many inside cabins were having the same problems. Our Laundry was delivered to us two days late because the laundry was closed for water repairs. Carnival has several Italian contractors trying to repair many of the areas poorly refurnished.

Great ports by yerianel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Classica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship was okay. I think that the cabins are in need of an upgrade. But the rest of the areas are nice. Maybe new carpet on the top deck.

Ship was smaller than some of its comparable ones. That is a plus in our book. May be a bit dated but certainly was kept spotless and very clean.

Excellent Cruise by tfwrenn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Spirit / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We were so pleased with our cruise on the Seabourn Spirit. The small size of the ship (202 passengers) made it so easy to find our way around the ship as well as get to know the other passengers and the crew. The ship was in lovely condition as well. And our stateroom was quite generous and comfortable.

Good cruise by ella732

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

In general I liked the cruise, I am not very happy about food: a lot of passengers were 50+, however the food was more appropriate for younger people, who can eat a lot in the evening without bad consequences, breakfast was poor, lunch was OK, but it was the same menu every day and I did not take dinners at the restaurants because I cant eat after 5

fantastic time! by pjelie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We enjoyed our time tremendously. First cruise, would love to go again. Great staff, great food, lots of entertainment options. The ship is scheduled to be renovated this winter, and it need its. They had 4 places with WiFi, and after you pay $.75/minute you'd like to be able to use it. We had heard stories of midnight buffets, and while we didn't NEED it, there wasn't any buffet past 9pm. Delightful staff, very accomodating. Most of the shows were well done. No "self service" laundry, you pay for each piece to be laundered. We'd go back tomorrow if possible!

No complaints about anything.  The ports were exceptional, accomodations were luxurious, food was excellent, entertainment above reproach; service beyond compare.  I would recommend this cruise to anyone and go again in a heartbeat.

Fell short of expectations by roberttangnj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Noordam / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Please note that I was a single traveler on the Noordam (11-day Ancient Mysteries - Voyage #N341). It was my second cruise with HAL in the past year. Despite the friendliness some members of the staff, I was very unhappy with the following: 1) The toilet maintenance was a major issue - it took more than 6 hours (TWICE) to repair a malfunctioning toilet (which was attributed by your maintenance staff to an external flushing problem); 2) Even though I had paid for TWO persons rate, I was awarded only ONE person's cruise points. Please note that as a single person, I ate only one person's portion in the dining room. (This is an issue which needs to be resolved or I will not consider traveling with HAL again in the future); 3) I discovered from no less than 3 couples that although they had paid less I did than for their state rooms. They were nevertheless upgraded to a VA room whereas I was upgraded to a 'D' category from 'F'. I consider this to be grossly unfair (if not insulting). Please note that the Princess and Cunard Lines had treated me much more fairly than HAL in the past. 4) The quality of the restaurant food was not even. I was disappointed with the onion soup, which was advertised as having GREYE cheese but discovered to be primarily mozzarella. My waiter confirmed this to be the case. I came from a family of food connaisseurs. I hope a senior staff member of HAL will call me to explain the discrepancies. Sincerely, Robert Tang (Stateroom D-1041).

Disappointment"" by jeffantoniewicz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The Staff were impressive/nice. The itinerary to the 4 Greek islands were wonderful. The Food was substandard. We started with the Italian speciality restaurant which was our ONLY good meal. Although I had a filet that was less than \"Choice Grade\", the wife and farther in-law enjoyed their selection. The buffet food was sometimes cold and tasteless but not sure if that is acceptable on Norwegian, I have been on other cruises (i.e. Celebrity, etc.) and the overall food experience was good compared to the Norwegian-Jade. We also tried the French Restaurant, \"Le Bistro\" and again the food was substandard with spotty good selections (i.e. Salads). We ended our trip by selecting the Steak House Specialty Restaurant and we were very disappointed by the entire meal. Again, the service was excellent but the food was sub-standard. The Shrimp cocktail was undercooked, the Steak was not Prime as indicated and did not taste like a 28 day aged steak, and the lobster I had was undercooked. The dessert we had was very good. Overall, taking out the food portion of the trip, we had a great experience but would not recommend the Norwegian-Jade.

Fantastic Service & Great for Teenagers by uftukel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Just returned from 11 Nights on the Celebrity Reflection. Can't say enough about the staff and crew. Service was impeccable. Enjoyed specialty dining in Murano, The Tuscan Grille, Qzine, the Lawn Club Grilled. All four offered very unique dining experiences and the food and service were amazing. Took our 17 and 15 year old. They were worried there wouldn't be any kids their age but there were around 400 teenagers from all over the world on our summer departure. Our kids were with their friends any time they were not with us. Great itinerary as well. Our trip left Rome (Civitavecchia) and cruised Santorini, Istanbul, Kusadasi, Athens, Mykonos, and Naples. Loved Turkey - was no reason to be concerned. People are extremely friendly. Would highly recommend this cruise.

fantastic! by splendidRCI

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Splendour of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We loved every minute of our cruise with RCI! Food was incredible, entertainment good fun... cabin was lovely (fairly spacious, though we had an inter-leading door and noisy kiddies next door.) Staff made every minute special, Orlando and Enzo were great fun. The venues for shows, theatre and Centrum, were lovely, and there was something happening all the time, without there ever being a crowded feeling. Even on days at sea, when it was sometimes hard to get a deckchair exactly where you wanted, you still didnt feel cramped and aggro over the food, the lines kept moving in the Windjammer, there was always plenty. Snacks in other venues were super and varied, I couldnt believe the quality ingredients, and the fresh fruit available. (I tried to balance healthy and naughty things.) Many people seemed to buy the drinks package and passed out fast in the sun, we bought reasonably priced french wines at dinner (and the bottles were kept for us each night till they were finished.) Free drinks were great for hot days, iced water, juice, iced tea and lemonade, I never bought other drinks! I spent nearly NOTHING on the boat...found it very economical and never went without anything. A great deal! Never did the ship excursions, just found cool stuff to do in every port. A perfect holiday. Couldn't fault service and value.
