Classy Cruise for Older Couples by eliseluers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Westerdam

The port calls were so unique and impressive, however, I would not recommend a cruise to see them. The itinerary is not your own and many excursions were not family friendly. The ship was designed for older couples, not young families. If you are looking for a classy cruise and you are limited in your mobility then this is the perfect cruise for you. Otherwise, there are much more adventurous and fun ways to enjoy the Inside Passage.

Relaxing and fun by iskwashington19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess

It was our first cruise and we liked it . We ate too much and definitely weight! The staff was wonderful . The ports were ok but seemed pretty similar except for glacier bay and Victoria. Wish we had more time in Victoria

Pure Ecstasy by dixonjohnnie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Royal Princess

This cruise was AMAZING. -The process of checking-in went very smooth. -The communication leading up to the actual cruise was very helpful -Love having the lanyards for easy access to our stateroom and for identification -The stateroom staff personnel was GREAT (Ruel). -Our stateroom crew personnel was available all the time. He kept our room very neat and clean. If I had to rate him on a scale of 1-10, he was a 10+ -The service and servers at dinner was tremendous- Maureen and John -Love the dinner options -Movie choices from within the stateroom were really good -The services set this cruise above ALL cruises

Royal Downer by czugie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

This was my second cruise on Royal Caribbean. Not having the pre-ordered items (8 months in advance) was ridiculous and inexcusable. Seeing other cabins have towel animals on their bed and we never got one, seeing other people with decorations and blankets when I ordered the same but you ran out??? Poor excuses and made my wife’s 55th Birthday not so great. The ship was booked to capacity and your soda machines kept running out of coke, the bars and I mean several kept running out of pina colada mix, the pad tai with shrimp is not supposed to include the hard crunchy tails, the desserts were so small that you had to take 3-4 to make a normal piece. The bumper cars I was excited about were not in service, the birthday cake was in our room the first night when my wife’s birthday wasn’t until the 5th night and Royal stated they could not deliver the cake on the proper day. The lines at the windjammer were long and you couldn’t get iced tea or lemonade at any of the bars. Water and coke machines should be accessible on every floor since you sell a soda package… quit running out of soda! I am now looking for a new cruise company to spend my money with. Thank you for all the disappointments. This type of trip takes a lot of people several years to save up for. All I can say is Thank god Alaska was so beautiful!

Great scenery. Ok cruise by mchickingbottom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

This was the most beautiful cruise I've ever been on, but also the least fun! Royal Caribbean was definitely catering to the older crowd, and it showed. The cruise director has seen his better years, and his activities were meh at best. The food and service, however, were par excellence! Our waiters and statesroom attendants were some of the best ever! If they could iron out the entertainment wrinkles, this would have been the cruise of a lifetime.

Fantastic Cruise by urbanblade829

Great cruise and amazing scenery. The ship is small enough to get close to the glaciers, but large enough to not feel over crowded

Child behavior issues by Justbeinghonest

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

A very big issue among many cruisers, and we heard this from several ... was the lack of discipline amongst many of their children. There was chasing, yelling and similar inappropriate behavior with ZERO intervention by parents or crew. Waiting for one theatre show to start, some of these kids were sitting up on the stage near the monitors. An unrelated woman went down and told them to get off the stage. Many in the audience applauded her action. There were no ushers at any shows to assist or direct attendees. On more than one occasion there were several children from the same group swimming in the 16 plus only pool with lifeguards doing nothing. This sort of behavior on a cruise is unacceptable and will dissuade many passengers from future sailings with this cruise line.

Many more on ship charges by dg8199

Love NCL but they added so many additional charges for things. Felt like we were paying for things that we used to get a no charge. Also miss turn down service

Decent experience by nish27882

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Brilliance of the Seas

Overall an ok experience. Most places on the cuise including swimming pools, hot tubs, dining rooms are overcrowded. The best part was cruising Tracy Arm Fjord. Not visiting Hubbard glacier was a bummer.
