I live about an hour from the port, so it was easy to get to and easily navigated.

Being form LA, this was 'home' for me. So I knew the area well and was not put off by it like some outsiders. The port had a cool battleship museum. The port itself was so easy to get into, I was amazed it was not as fancy as the Fort Lauderdale port, being that this was L.A. The signage was not confusing at all. I did realize that was not NCL's home port, like the fancy port Celebrity has in Fort Lauderdale.

MUST take an excursion; nothing around the industrial busy port to see.

We had an evening flight home, so we took the airport excursion which toured LA, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. It was a good way to see some of the top highlights of the area with only a few hours.

Stayed at Inn at 50 the night before. Very clean and family owned. Close to beach, grocery store and restaurants. $18 Uber ride to ship.

Just used it for boarding and disembarking. These processes went rather smoothly and did not take an excessive amount of time.
