Review summary

Overall ok, but definitely not up to their usual standard. I will definitely never do another family trip with them

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty easy, even with computer problems. The issue was we were supposed to leave at 4pm and the captain announced that we would be delayed until 7 due maintenance but by the time I went to bed at 11:45pm we were still stuck in port with no further communication from anyone. Turns out we finally left at 3:10 am and I didn’t find this out until the final day of cruise we they give you the summary of the cruise

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
My son was registered for the teen program. He has autism and once we arrived at center we were told he could not participate because his caregiver would not be able to attend with him. He had a horrible first cruise which in turn ruined our trip because he had been so excited to play air hockey, video games, and the other activities. Their stated reason was the other parents would complain if they saw an adult in with their children. How about inclusion people or at least have a block of time set for kids with special needs. I saw a few other families with special needs kids on our cruise that could have benefited from having a fun place to take their children

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

Can tell that Ruby is old (hence the late start to leaving port first day). Looks worn out, many public bathrooms kept being closed due to maintenance, and elevators kept going down (I was briefly stuck in one one 2nd day of trip).

I did not notice the upgrades other than the workers coming in several times to change our locks to be upgraded to the Medallion system. I also forgot to mention that our A/C was out in our room for The first 1.5 days of our trip.

Very sorry to hear about your son and the cruise being ruined. My heart sank reading that part. The cruise line should have some sort of procedure that verifies and clearly marks that an adult can attend a teen in the rec area so the other parents won't get upset. Perhaps have him/her wear a Princess Cruises vest to let other adults know that it's okay for that person to be in the area. Block of time as you mentioned is another good idea. They ought to do something. Hope everything goes better with your next vacation where ever it may be.

Did you notice any of the upgrades? Received an e-mail that they just did millions in upgrades.
