I was born and raised in Houston Texas and Galveston has some of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. There is a lot of history in Galveston. If you go down the Sea Wall and look to the right near some fancy Hotels, you can see the artillery bunkers where their barrels were aimed at the Gulf protecting us from Germany.

Port of Houston is really good...easy on and off. Great parking with no need to shuttle from car to ship.

Cruise terminal of Houston is a bit far and transportation from/to airports are expensive. but the city and highways are great.

I'm a local resident so probably don't appreciate the area the same as a visitor. The real drawback to the Bayport Cruise Port is that it is in the middle of nowhere. No hotels, restaurants, etc. etc. My understanding is that it will be closing at the end of this spring.

The port is not really in Houston, but I liked the closer proximity than Galveston. I'm sad Norwegian won't be sailing out of there anymore.

Definitely not my favorite place to sail out of... very gross water and not a very attractive city...
