Go to L.A. Kings Confectionery a block away from the pier and see old fashioned taffy pull happen in front of your eyes. Yummy too!

Had a great time. We met up with some cruise mates to meet for the first time after talking for months on a FaceBook page created for this cruise. I also got a tattoo... So it was good.

The city of Galveston needs to update the embarkation area. We are in Texas and it gets dangerously hot here. The elderly and children do not need to be in that heat for a long period of time. On RC part everything was great

The day before my cruise, I drove to Galveston Island from Dallas Fort Worth. Stayed at The Tremont House, which is a beautiful hotel. Walked to near by restaurant and shops. Had a nice time. The roof top bar at the Tremount House is pretty cool.

Didn't get to spend a lot of time here, but the shops and beaches seemed nice. We loved the giant old houses. Next time, we will stay in Galveston the night before and spend some time on the beach before embarkation

This cruise was my first cruise out off Galveston. Normally I cruise out off Miami. The boarding in galveston went verry smooth. I arrived 2 days before the cruise and found Galveston a bit boring town.

If you ever get the chance to stay at Moody Gardens in Galveston, know that they will go above and beyond their normal jobs to help you out. I just came back from a 2 week journeys cruise on carnival freedom. The day we sailed out I FORGOT my phone in their lobby from it slipping out of my pocket. Of course by the time I noticed we were already aboard and I couldn't go back. I called and left a message with the front that if they found it to hold on to it and call another number in my party as I was going on a long cruise. Fast forward 2 weeks I call security of Moody, he checks and asks for a description, he says "you cant get any more descriptive than that, well the good news is weve got it" unfortunately I had no way of going back, I asked if there was ANY way it could come with a shuttle to the port as I had to go to the airport straight from the port. He was able to find a gentleman by the name of Alvin who was already doing shuttle service for the hotel at 7:30am. I couldn't thank them enough and gave them a nice tip! Besides that the attractions were amazing, in the jungle pyramid you had monkeys who ran over your head in the trees, bats who napped near by, even multicolored ducks who strolled right past your feet. In the 3D and 4D movies was fun especially the spongebob one for my son. The pools (indoor and outdoor) were heated. We could even see the port from our room. I highly recommend staying if you can afford it, I say that as they can get a bit pricey for their meals but everything else is worth it! Sorry it's so long!

Love Galveston as a town and our closest port. We always come one or two days before to relax and go to our favorite restaurants ect...I personally HATE Houston traffic so I drive out of my way to avoid it😂
