There is a lot to enjoy in Galveston. We recommend staying at the Holiday in Resort on the beach. You can leave your car there in a secure parking lot for free. They have a shuttle that will take you to the cruise terminal and pick you up when you return.

Easy to get on and off, decent parking options but not much to do here besides board the ship.

No excursion as we live in the Houston area. For us, easy to get to and easy to park, knowing our car was going to be safe.

The new terminal is great and galveston is fun city for the night before from the beach to the restraunts.
