The waters are nasty because we are on the "dirty" side of the Mississippi, but there are plenty of things to do to include visit the strand, night life has a few clubs, Opera House, Sea Wall is nice and Moody Gardens.

Don't stop at one of the garages on your way in. Go drop off your bags first and then go park your car.

Ugly views, They can do better than that... Its bad enough that the water is brown and contaminated, but to have the port surrounded by oil tanker ships and other industrial related industry uses is not a good look.

very nice city, but plan on spending money for overnight stay and very costly transfers to and from Houston to board the ship in Galveston.

Plenty to do and see at Galveston We visited the Texas seaport museum and had drinks at Fishermen Wharf watching the Freedom cast off on her journey.
