We love Galveston. We ate at Salsas and it was delicious. We stayed at the harbor house and met the clerk, Dee. She was a hoot. We will stay here again. The ocean was, as the ocean is, perfect.

We actually cruise out of here the most. It's convenient because it's the closest. I do wish the ships went to more places out of TX. And sometimes debarkation can be hectic here, but it won't stop us!

If you're bussed into here, you will only see a dreary industrial drive. If you have an extra 30 minutes, walk a couple of blocks over to the Strand. This was one of the economic centers of 1890's Texas and, unlike most Texas cities, the buildings actually still exist.

The Hotel Galvez was a great place to stay and we loved eating at Gaido's Seafood restaurant. For breakfast the Crab cake Benedict was amazing at Miller's.

We debarked from Galveston and got there the evening before the ships departure. There are numerous restaurants along the seawall and plenty of hotels as well as Walmarts and drugstores to pick up any last minute items before departure. We went a few blocks off the seawall to a restaurant called The Black Pearl and were extremely pleased with the service and the quality of the food. If you go there, get there early because it gets crowded really quickly after 5pm. We

We cruise out of Galveston. its an easy city to get around in. We did not do an excursion as we have been there many times over the years. There was an annual bike rally that made it a little challenging to get through certain street closures but not a major problem. we will continue to sail out of Galveston when possible.

I don't know what happend this time, maybe all the rain caused all the confusion. The whole embarkation process, from shuttle bus to boarding, was a big cluttered mess. The shuttle busses could not tell who was getting of the cruise and who was going on the cruise. The parking attendant told us to stand in a certain area to wait for the bus but the empty busses were passing us by while we were being rained on. People were waving them down but the shuttle drivers who were empty laughed and kept driving. Some people got tired of waiting and walked to the terminal in the pouring rain. Checking in was another confusion fest. To make this long story short, this was the worst embarkation I have ever been a part of. What happend here?

We took an Uber to Galveston from Hobby. We stayed at Comfort Inn, the rooms were nice, friendly staff, nice breakfast. Getting around the town was a bit challenging. There is no Uber to Galveston, so we took a Get Me to the pier. He responded right away and it was only $8. The pier is fun, scary fast rollercoaster, but a little pricey. The food at Bubba Gumps was terrible as was the service. We couldn't get another Get Me to take us back to the hotel so we had to take a $22 taxi. The same Get Me driver drove us to the pier the next morning with no problem. A lot of traffic which was to be expected. We arrived at 10:15am and were on the ship by 11:30am. As long as you have patience, expect long lines, bring a snack and water and it will all work out. I would sail out of Galveston again.
