Q: My family will be On the Carnival Paradise Last week of August.. I never cruise from that port. Will there be transportation services waiting to hire to take a family of 18 to the airport when we return from our cruise .. if not any suggestions please

A: for 18 people? you'll have to pre book something yourself. you'll have cabs but you'll have to take multiple. same with Uber and lyfts.

A: I agree with Mary! Hire private transportation. that's what I always do. Even if we only have 4 people it is cheaper and way more convenient.

A: Tampa has private shuttles waiting to go to the airport or local hotels, but with luggage, I've never seen them with more than 9-10 passengers. Shuttle prices are per person, so hiring an executive van or small bus that fits all, might be more econom... ical and convenient as you can request a specific time that gives all a chance to finish customs processing.See More

A: I believe that for ANY cruiseline it is 1 bottle or wine or champagne per passenger. NO BOTTLE OF ALCOHOL.

A: Carnival allows one bottle of wine per adult. Bring it with you in your carry on and you will have to go through security with it. If you are going on Carnival they also allow you to bring a 12 pack of cans per person of sodas. No bottled water or so... das.See More

A: Hampton Inn in Ybor City is about 1-2 miles from the Port of Tampa. It has a shuttle that will take you to the ship. Nice place

A: We stayed at the Hampton Inn Downtown Tampa, Channel District. Great hotel in a nice neighborhood. The cruise terminal is literally around the block, maybe a 15 minute stroll or a three minute drive. Walking distance to the Aquarium, a WW2 Victory Sh... ip Museum, and local restaurants. We would definitely return to this hotel.See More

A: We always use Valet when in Tampa. The extra cost is more then worth the hassle for us. On return you get your bags and turn the corner and get your car which is brought around in less then five minutes. They help you load and it’s straight to the In... terstate and home.See More

A: We sailed from Tampa in April and it was $20 extra for valet. We had never sailed out of Tampa before so the valet was much easier for us since my husband rides a scooter. Parking was $15 per day So only $20 extra was a good deal.

A: Go to the Ybor section of Tampa. Great walking area with restaurants, bars and shops. You can take the free streetcars and hop on and hop off to see parts of Tampa.

A: if looking to just chill for an afternoon, downtown Riverwalk by Curtis Hixon Park and South a little to Armature Works, renovated streetcar repair building now housing quick-serve restaurants... plenty of meandering.

Q: has anybody done the valet parking at port of Tampa? I'm with my aunt that uses a walker and deciding if valet parking is better than regular parking? do they hold on to your keys for the duration of the cruise? how does it work?

A: I use it every time we cruise out of Tampa. Very easy to navigate. Pull up get out, baggage handler takes your checked baggage and car. Driver walks to curb and goes to valet booth. Which is next to elevator and entry to terminal. When you come back... you come out of customs which is also next to elevator and to valet booth. Your car will be brought to the booth in about 5 minutes or less and they help load your car which is out of the busy area. Then you just drive out and on your way home. To me it’s well worth the few extra $$$$$ as my wife and I are both 81. I think they take your keys I forget now as I always have two sets.See More

A: We always use valet parking. They do keep your car keys, they have to park and deliver your car. You can pay online or pay the day of the cruise.

A: We used a off site parking, they kept our keys, shuttled us right to the drop off area where you take the escalator up stairs to security and check in. A: Hmm... those previous answers sound extremely late- but we haven't sailed from Tampa since the re-start... we've done a few from other ports (not in the Retreat) and are onboard by 11:30am. Prior to the Global Suspension we'd arrive to the Port of T... ampa @ 10am and be onboard by 11am (not in the Retreat). I know the Constellation had a rough embarkation this weekend, but this is only typical after a ship returns from a transatlantic.See More

Q: Ship is to dock at 7 AM. Is too risky to try to make a flight at 11:15 AM at Tampa International? I have always followed the not till after after noon. However I have never cruised out of Tampa before. I do not know how far it is and how long it will take to get to the airport, traffic etc Thanks.

A: We were delayed 8 hours in in late December due to fog, then it took us about 2 hours to get off the ship. We are local but our friends missed their afternoon flights, and had to get a hotel. It was very stressful for them. I feel an 8 hour delay is... rare, but I would recommend booking a flight as late in the day as possible.See More

A: The trip from port to airport on this Saturday at 7:37am would take a mere 12 minutes from start line to finish. How long it will take you to disembark, collect bags, get to a cab or shuttle, get checked in…heaven forbid there are any delays with the... ship or customs…I wouldn’t do it.See More

A: you should have no problem if you walk off the ship. It's not far to the airport. You will probably get off the ship between 8-830. 20 minute ride to the airport.

A: Check with your hotel, they probably off shuttle services between certain hours, usually free of charge. From the hotel to the port- also ask the hotel if they don’t shuttle there then catch a ride share

A: Check with the hotel to see if they have shuttle service. If so, you can have them pick you up from the airport and take you to the hotel no charge.
