We stayed in South Beach with friends the night before our cruise. The seafood was amazing at CJ Crabshack. The beach was alright. The traffic was horrible and the night life was crazy which ain't really our style. The port in Miami was big but we had a pleasant time boarding due to faster to the fun.

We went to South Beach the night before our cruise. Miami is a really nice place. Explore it the day before you go on your cruise if you have time.

Use Uber- MUCH better than cabs (and cheaper)!

Stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites Hilton in Brickell Downtown before our cruise. Rates were affordable and the room was comfortable there. Hotel has a shuttle to Port Miami and was only a small upcharge when booked. Brickell is a nice area, walkable with a good choice of restaurants close by. We took a walk along Brickell bay after dinner. There was a Publix grocery open until 11pm and a 24 hour CVS we walked to for some last minute things we needed the night before the cruise. There is also a free elevated monorail / peoplemover that stops all around the area if walking isn't your thing. Port Miami was efficient for us, it took only around 30 minutes to board our ship once dropped off by shuttle here. Was also easy to find a shuttle van to the airport after the cruise as well.

Enjoyed Bayside Marketplace and Lincoln Road Mall. Yuca was great restaurant in South Beach. Used Uber twice without incident.

Miami was dirty, with horrible traffic and rude cab drivers. Don't spend any more time in Miami than you have to. If you have some spare time, go to Hollywood Beach in Fort Lauderdale, but stay away from Miami if you have a choice.

We flew in to Miami a day early to check out the local scene. We went to Bill Baggs state park on Key Biscayne and climbed the cape Florida lighthouse, free and fun! Went to prestige imports and looked at million dollar cars (for the men in our group 😂). Then we went to winwood walls (art walls) this was awesome highly recommended, then we did the winwood yard which is a food truck yard with live music and an outdoor bar. The port was very hectic but overall it was a good experience. Royal Carribean‘s port was fast and easy. And lastly, DO NOT use “best cruise” parking- we had a terrible experience and everyone there seemed to be complaining- took 2 1/2 hours to get our car and many others seemed to have the same experience.
