We were only there for a couple hours and all the shops were already closed down.

We only had a short period in Victoria (from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm), but it is worth the trip via bus (I believe was $10 each person) to downtown.

We got there on June 30, the day before Canada day so all the colors were flying high. There was also a street festival with food trucks and bands playing. Our excursion was Orca Spirit Adventures Whale Watching by Zodiac boat. Our guide was Sarah and was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and you could tell that she loved her work and these majestic creatures. She took us out to an area where a family of orcas were foraging for food. We did not get close, only about 1/4 of a mile a away so as not to disturb them but with my zoom lens, I did get some good shots. We did have to walk from the dock to the excursion office but it was a nice 15 minute walk through a pretty residential area.

we were unable to go on our planned excursion, carriage ride around the city, as the ship hit 57knot winds and we were 3 hours late. All excursions were cancelled.

Tried to do Burchard Gardens but found not enough time in port. Also, too late in the day to actually see much of the gardens.

Did not do an excursion through ship but went to Butchart Gardens. The weather was great with a clear blue sky and 70 degrees and the gardens were almost in full bloom. It takes about 30 minutes each way and you need at least two hours without shopping. However, it is a $50US cab ride each way and $25US for entrance. Unfortunately, the ship excursion was even a bit more at $80 each. Try to get together with another couple. We also went to high tea at the Empress. With a glass of champagne it is almost $100US pp but a once in a lifetime experience.

We did our excursion to But-chart gardens the day before the ship sailed. We took the car on the ferry and rested overnight at Huntington Manor, just a couple blocks from the Empress, where we had tea. Our waitress there was employed there for 44 years.

It would have been nice to have more time in Victoria. We had to rush to Butchart Gardens, then rush back.

Medical emergency at sea so of course we got to BC at 10pm but not allowed off the boat until 11pm and then had to be back on by 1215am so we got an hour. Don’t know why the captain could not catch up the time . Other ships we have been on were able to make up the time. Disappointed.
