We got off the ship and took a pedicab city tour. I have been here many times but learned a lot about the city and saw areas that I had not seen before.

We loved this port but we were not there long enough to do anything in the daylight. Got in after 6 pm. We took a taxi into the city to look around, but would have enjoyed staying there longer.

It was cool, we visited Butchard Gardens and bought plenty of maple syrup. However, we only got 2 hours on an 11 acre garden. We didn’t get nearly enough time to look around.

The Legislation Building is a must see (and check out the totem pole on the front lawn near the marina). Walk through the neighborhoods on your way back to see some amazing homes.

Quaint city with British flavor; many speedy harbor taxis zipping around. We were disappointed that the city charges $10 for round trip bus between ship and downtown. We enjoyed walking through the James Bay neighborhood and conversing with some of the residents.
