Make sure to plan ahead when deciding how to get to the port. The port is outside of downtown and there are plenty of shuttles that will offer service there. Plan ahead when visiting downtown Seattle. The farmers/fish markets, as well as the piers are great places to visit. Be careful when venturing into downtown. There are some areas that are less desirable and contain higher numbers of displaced peoples.

The Yellow Cab taxi drivers are scammers. They take advantage of your situation: new to a place, carrying luggage, have a schedule to meet. They overcharge a significant amount and refuse to use the meter, accept credit cards and to issue a receipt so there will be no evidence of what you paid. I was quoted and paid $20 from the Amtrak station to the Sheraton Grand Seattle and $35 from the cruise port to the Amtrak station. When I got back from the cruise, I calculated the fare based on the tariff to be only about $12 instead of $20 and $21 instead of $35 from the cruise port to the Amtrak station.

It's sad to say that as much as I wanted to do and see in Seattle, it was awful. We watched people do drugs on the street and people stealing others items right on the street near Pike Place Market. It's so crowded and you can't get through anywhere.

Definitely a Democrat run city, people all over they place doped out laying on sidewalks

Too many homeless just laying on the streets.

We did not do an excursion but spent a couple of days on our own enjoying the city. This is one of the most beautiful cities in the US, so try and take a day or two to enjoy it while you're there.

Spent a day before and 1 day after my cruise. The city was full of things to do and see. Pre-cruise I took a bus city tour which was very informative. I got lots of nice photos. Post cruise I spent the day on Pike Place Market and Westlake Mall. Great weather and lots of walking exercise. Awesome!

no problem at all except for the port tax. $ hungry Washington is to blame, not the cruise line
