A lot of kitschy stuff to buy on the main drag. However, if you choose to take an excursion there, plenty to do besides shop for "stuff". We have done pretty much everything there and it is all fun. Rent a golf cart and drive up and down the hills to look the place over if you don't feel like parasailing or kayaking (those are fun). The tour of the Casino was interesting.

It’s a small cute town, few breakfast places, many shops, public restrooms, casino, small beach. Nothing out of the norm to have it considered as a MUST do. Make the best out of it, if you decide not to go, you won’t miss much.

We were pleasantly surprised by Catalina. We chose to just walk around the town and up to the view point. It was very pretty, had some nice shops and the multi-coloured houses were cool. There were plenty of other options available, such as renting a golf cart or going on the submarine.

We LOVED Catalina! I thought it would be a throw away stop, but were pleasantly surprised with a beautiful little town with great shopkeepers and a nice selection of shops and restaurants. We will be back for sure! Do not stay on the ship!
