We did not do any excursions. We stayed at the Wyndham French Quarter, which is right outside of what's considered French Quarter. New Orleans was lively, and offered great opportunities to just sit at a bar and people watch. So many historical sites to visit. We loved the open alcohol policy! Yes, there are homeless people around (especially at Jackson Square, on the benches in front of the cathedral), but we never felt bothered by them. We want to go back, because we didn't get to a couple of spots in French Quarter (we only arrived into New Orleans 48 hours prior to embarkation), and we still feel there were things outside of New Orleans we missed. Plus the food- yum. Still so many things to try! Guess we'll book another cruise out of New Orleans in the near future! ;)
