Review summary

Wish I had more positive things to report... unfortunately, it was a let down - mainly with personnel. Even the person working the photo counter in the evening was unpleasant (though most of the photo personnel were accommodating).

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Better than in previous embarkations.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I didn't find the food as tasteful as our previous cruise on the same ship. Food was not served as often and was just ok. Steak was sent back twice, and I didn't reorder because I didn't want them to waste another steak. Head waiter let his irritation show when several table mates had to switch plates because he served it to the wrong person.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Don't really participate... enjoyed trivia.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Shows were ok, but past cruise interacted with guests afterward in the atrium more than on this cruise. It was what we most looked forward to. Caliente DJ's didn't play requested songs, yet no one was dancing to their playlist. DJ Scratchy wasn't impressive with his vocals/dancing skills and the male dancers lacked the talent previous cruises possessed. DJ Scratchy also left a lot to be desired while hosting karaoke.

Children's Programs

No children with us

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room steward "Svete" was better than dining staff, but ice bucket wasn't filled regularly, toilet paper rolls weren't stocked (had to ask twice during cruise), kleenex ran out, I opened another box but didn't know how to put in dispenser. It was left out for two days until I figured out how to install it. At cruise end, Svete said he was training someone and asked to look the room over. However, he didn't clean the areas the trainee missed. Our dining waiters that took our drink order and picked up our plates were very good and personable, but the head waiter "Dan" was not.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Common areas and restrooms were maintained well.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was fine. I think the storage areas (shelving, etc.) could be more evenly distributed, since it's not always couples traveling together. Charging plugs would be appreciated at the nightstand.

Ship tip

Don't have high expectations of the food.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana

This is my hometown.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

Jungle Tubing - was good, but didn't feel comfortable browsing in town.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Enjoyed Calico beach. Pricing for drive and chair/umbrella were very reasonable.

Cozumel, Mexico

We didn't do an excursion. There is little to do and see right off the ship. And warnings not to go off the beaten path limited how far we were comfortable traveling.

Disembarkation

Need more porters!!!
