Plenty of things to see and do around the city! We just walked around on our own before and after the cruise. Recommend going to Mother's Restaurant, Acme Oyster House, of course Cafe Du Monde locations have a line anytime BUT there is a small location right at the port inside the Outlets that might not be as crazy as the older 'real' locations? Walking through some of the French Market shops was cute, got a few souvenirs. The New Orleans Jazz Museum is small but has some interesting exhibits. Next time I go to NOLA I definitely want to visit the World War II Museum; it looked really big and maybe a bit too serious for this trip, but it's on my to-do list!

New Orleans is great! Lots of things to do. We stayed at the Omni Riverfront after a bad experience with an AirB&B. We got to our hotel late at night and still found a place a few blocks away to eat a nice dinner. And the hotel had a nice cocktail lounge. There is some construction going on near the port.

New Orleans is always great. Walk the French Quarter and go to Cafe Du Mond. And Felix's for oysters. Skip Brennans for breakfast - quality has gone down, along with service. Acme is second choice for oysters - right across the street from Felix's.

Took at walking food tour of the French Qtr which was excellent. The guide gave us some history as well as trying different things unique to the area. The WWII museum is a must see if you have never seen it. Also did the Hop on Hop off bus tour, which was very nice and informative.

I have a quick question about coolers. My roommate always brings her small rolling cooler thru the New Orleans port. We’ve never had a problem getting it in. It’s not 12x12x12. But it is close, just a little taller and skinnier. She recently went out of Mobile Alabama in March. They would not let her take it thru. She had to take it back to the car. My question is, are they cracking down on the exact size or was that just a call they made on their own in Mobile? Any thoughts on this issue?

Port of New Orleans is the best port of them all. You drive into the garage, drop your bags, park and get on elevator to go downstairs. Go through security and right up to check-in. Get to garage by 10am and you will be on board by 11:30 or earlier if you have FTTF. Take your bags off yourself and you will be in your car driving home by 7-7:30am..
