Tourism crew and welcome to Wellington exceptional the guides were so helpful throughout and there are many free tourism sites to visit which was certainly a refreshing change. A must visit is the beautiful Botanical Gardens set in stunning parkland. Catch the cable car and enjoy the wonderful walk back through the gardens and the Lady Norwood rose gardens stunning.

We took a morning tour along "the wild coast". Lovely views, followed by some sheep dog trials and a stupendous morning coffee with cakes, sandwiches, pastries et al. Back to the capital city which is extremely attractive and small enough to be quite manageable by foot. Deciding not to take the cable car journey up into the hills above the city, we went to the harbour area instead. We were well rewarded. About five minutes from the "Beehive" New Zealand's stunning parliament building, the harbour area has been developed sympathetically and is easy on the eye. All manner of water sports were visible in the bay as we took a beer in one of the many cafes and bars on offer. Idealic.

Spent time riding the cable car to the top, then walking down through the botanic gardens and rose garden. Followed that up with visit to the city museum.

this was a fun city to visit and easy to get around. we did a tour excursion but not through the ship since it was cheaper. we drove around the town, went to the botanical gardens, went to mt. victoria and rode the cable car. then we did some brewery hopping. there are stations around the town to take you back to the cruise ship.

Wellington Cable Car and TePapa museum was good...cheaper to self explore with the cable car only costing $9NZ for an Adult return and the Te Papa Museum being free to enter.

We did an excursion in a bus around the bay to a reception place high on a hill overlooking the sea. They gave us a lovely morning tea and a sheep dog demonstration. well worth the money
