My favorite stop in NZ! Beautiful buildings, nice shop and eateries and such kind people. Free shuttle takes you right downtown

If you are into Art Deco this is the place. Amazing architecture from the period and an aquarium well worth going to.

We had booked and paid for a train trip from Napier. Two weeks before the cruise they told us there had been a mistake with our booking and we were cancelled. I rang the station in NZ and booked us on a different train trip. A couple of days before we sailed this was also cancelled. I was told this was because the cruise lines had bought all the seats. Royal Caribbean was charging nearly double what I paid online so sadly we didn't do a lot in Napier.

We took an excursion to see some of the areas out of town, although just taking the port shuttle into town might have been a better use of our time to explore Napier on our own.

Did our own thing here, was a great day out even the rain didn't "dampen" our enthusiasm to explore.
