Overall it was an enjoyable cruise. Didn't like that everything was in US dollars and our AU dollar was so bad that what seemed good ended up costing so much more. Some of the food was blah and the coffee was awful. Learnt to ask for English bacon.

Loved the ala carte restaurant experience, buffets were well stocked. The coffee (American) was shocking so didn't drink but found dark cocoa sachets enjoyable

Cabin / Stateroom

Was quite comfortable with virtual window but will go back to balcony as missed the outside air and smell
Did a panaroma excursion that included the Botanical Garden and lookout. We had a fantastic and knowledgeable guide, very entertaining and really enjoyed it
Due to not getting to the port until 11an and leaving 4.30pm, half hour bus ride to and from Dunedin, it was overcast and drizzled with rain, being the 1st of January with not many shops open, we decided to stay on board
Cruised the sound on the ship and it was beautiful. When we entered the sound we saw lots of other ships/boats/planes and helicopters. Had some lovely large waterfalls
The only real issues we had were that the vegetarian options in the main dining were very limited. Usually vegetarian pie or a curry. Plus the queues for children's activities in the seaplex were horrendous. Otherwise the ship and crew were great.
Yes I always ask for English bacon so much nicer .. yep the dollars is a killer right now so glad we had Aussie $ at Christmas to New Zealand but glad you enjoyed your cruise mostly hope ur hooked as we are enjoy happy cruising
