Perth was the BIG surprise. Now, my favourite city in Australia. A gorgeous, modern city with beautiful surrounds. Fremantle has kept its heritage feel. Although opposites, we enjoyed them both.

We took a train to Perth (22Km). Perth is a beautiful city with every amenity of a metropolis with the advantage of low population. There is a lot to do here! No excursion.

We started the cruise from here but we stayed in a bed and breakfast the night before. There was plenty of stuff to see and do with many shops and an indoor market which had a wide variety of foods and other products. There were plenty of places to eat and buy souvenirs. Although parts of it were quite modern the city and its building retains a lot of its colonial feel with its buldings. This was especially true of the old Fremantle gaol which although i only saw part was nevertheless very interesting. If not so far away i would visit it again.
