We docked at Fishermans Island in Brisbane which is a 30 minute ride away from the City centre. Plenty of taxis were available for those cruisers not taking excursions or those not wanting to wait for the shuttles. Last time we came we docked at Brisbane Cruise port which is nicer and it’s more convenient to take the river ferry into the city. Brisbane itself is a very clean city with lots to do and great shopping opportunities.

The ship berths 35 minutes by coach from the centre of Brisbane. We met friends on the south bank of the river which traverses Brisbane. This area is an attraction itself with a sizeable city beach, restaurants, theatres, attractions of all descriptions. Brisbane is an attractive city, beautifully manicured and cared for by the residents.

Ships will dock at either Portside or the Grain Terminal. Portside is better as there are shops, public transport etc. At the Grain Terminal you will have to take a shuttle to the City. City Cat ferry is best way to see city at a reasonable price.

There was a day trip to Surfers Paradise, I took this trip as I wanted to remanise as this is where my husband and I used to go when he was alive, so it was nice to look around, but a lot has changed.

On board the sea princess waiting to sail out of Brisbane. Breakdown has caused a 4 hour delay but all's good. Have plenty of time to eat drink & be merry. Lots happening on board to keep us entertained! LOVE this boat!💞🛳

Brisbane is a beautiful city with plenty to see around the CBD (South Bank, Botanical Gardens, river cruise, etc). However the Cruise Terminal is a long distance from the city and not serviced by public transport. There is nothing to see or walk to from the port. The cheapest access is to get a taxi to or from the airport [served by rapid train]. While in Australia, Carnival Luminosa is based out of Brisbane so driving from inter-state it was easiest for us to self-drive and pre-book parking at the Wilson terminal car park. (Less than $90 for a week)
