Our excursion to Punta Tombo penguin rookery whisked us away as soon as we docked, and returned us just in time for sailing. The excursion was definitely worthwhile, to see so many penguins in their natural habitat and so expertly maintained as a wildlife preserve. There was no time to see anything else of Puerto Madryn.

The excursion to the punta tomba penguins was excellent but felt that the onboard excursion staff did not properly advise that because of the pathways being filled with loose gravel it was near impossible to walk with a cane or to push a wheelchair which we did have on the excursion. There should of been a better description of what was involved. Otherwise it was excellent

Visited Penguin rookery, worth the long ride out! Amazing! LOTS of Madgellenic penguins and their chicks. Small souvenir shop, limited variety but only stop.

We did the Punta Tombo excursion to see the penguins. The bus drive was very long but the bus was comfortable, with reclining seats. We had a good time there and saw lots and lots of penguins with their chicks. They were so cute!!! We went all the way to the end of the trail to see them swim. We also saw a few lamas and some birds. The site was very busy with lots of buses and tourists.

There's not much at the port itself. Did the punta tombo tour with a tour operator that was outside the ship when we docked. It was amazing to see 500.000+ Magellan pinguins in their habitat. The tour itself was so so, but the penguin rookery is worth the trip.
