Luckily seas calm enough for us to tender. Had to anchor 2 hrs earlier and departed earlier. Windy, barren, British outpost. Took 4x4 out to penguins....Very bumpy no roads, just mud holes! Saw king penguins and chicks. Great small local souvenir shop with complimentary tea Cafe! Good selection of souvenirs, but most made in UK for sale in Stanley?! Weather storm came in quickly, didn't have time to have a pint in town after tour or even spend £ in small gift shop.

This port was the highlight of the trip. We had amazing weather and the tour to Volunteer Point was incredible. Long, cramped, bumpy ride but so worth it. Our guide, Kurt, with Estancia Excursions, was excellent. Get in line early for tenders (at least an hour) and you won't have any issues getting ashore. We were the first group off the ship and had the penguins to ourselves for a good 15-20 mins before others started showing up.
