The Falklands were one of the highlights of our 30 day cruise from Buenos Aires to LA. I'm trying to ration out my stars so I can emphasize the real standouts. This is one of them! Took the Kelp Point tour from Princess, a tour no one else has mentioned, part of a 5 vehicle off-road caravan, riding in a Ford F-150. Was the road rough? Count on it, but it took us out to an unspoiled coastline where we enjoyed a deli-style lunch watching penguins and elephant seals, sitting on the tailgate. Our guide, Dick, had a thorough knowledge of the Falklands. He knew the wildlife, of course, but he'd also served in the government and is currently a magistrate, so he could answer all our questions. Our tour wasn't cheap, around $300 per person. but it was worth every penny. I'd love to spend more time in the Falklands!

Tendering process was a challenge in the morning as the ship did not provide a step to get out of the tender boat upon arrival at the port. By the time we returned in the afternoon they had one step they were moving back and forth between the two tender boats. Celebrity should probably acquire additional steps for the tender boats. Tender process ran smoothly and professionally. The people of the Falkland Islands were genuinely kind and nice. The islands are very quiet and sleepy and seemed positively overwhelmed with having two large cruise ships in port at once. It should be limited to only one. Activities are fairly limited and focus on wildlife viewing in one of three places or shopping (primarily aimed at tourists) along the 'main st.' located just along the tender pier. The main street area is flat and easily walkable but to explore further be prepared for a climb up a large hill or two hire taxi/rent car. I booked a tour privately with MAAZ tours (https://www.tripadvisor.com/AttractionProductReview-g294272-d19282520-Penguins_Elephant_Seals_and_City_Attractions_at_Falkland_Islands-Stanley_East_Falk.html) and the tour provider apparently left before my ship's tenders arrived. Tour was supposed to commence at 1000am, I arrived before that time and tour had already left. Hours later (~2:00 pm) the tour operator contacted me telling me the times had changed. The tour was cancelled and fully refunded but completely wasted my day in port. Would not recommend the tour provider at all.

Cancelled because of weather! Yes the weather was terrible but if we had stayed on schedule and been there the day scheduled it would have been fine but due to the propulsion issues another and major disappointment.
