My daughter and I discovered Amalia and Julian, owners of Refugio Pullao, an amazing place where we rode horses along the shore. We were picked up at the ship by Amalia and taken to their ranch. We were greeted by Julian, who introduced us to his horses and gave us an amazing lesson (20 minutes) on trust and horses. After a two hour ride we finished back at the ranch to a perfectly prepared snack and beverage. At our request, we were given a wonderful tour of the entire property and then driven back to the ship. Today was a PERFECT port day in Castro!! One day we will return and stay a week! www.refugiopullao.cl/en-us

We went on the excursion that took you to the churches which was okay, but they were in need of repair and the church walls had to be propped up with boards. The craft market at the shore was nice and the colorful houses were nice, but the poverty was quite evident.
