Took a very Interesting HAL excursion to coffee plantation to see how coffee is harvested. This was a “Food and Wine” tour and a very good steak lunch was included. With coffee of course 😀. From there we went to the town of Antigua and explored the area with cobblestone streets and historical buildings. Lots of good natured street vendors. Good value for the money.

Toured Antigua and must have walked 4 miles on cobblestones. Visited churches, bought from the street vendors, had a lovely lunch in a monastery, and learned about the Mayan Tree of Life.

Went local beer tasting excursion and had fun with the group on our bus. Paired the beer with tasty snacks.

Our excursion took us to Antigua which happened to be very busy with church goers because of the Lenten Season. It was great to see and be exposed to the customs and traditions of the people,

this port was for commercial vessels and we had to take a shuttle to our bus for our excursion. the excursion was horrible. we did the antigua walking tour. we were told this would be ok for someone with mobility issues but it was not. the streets were cobblestone and uneven. the bus ride to and from excursion was scary as the streets were too small to handle the size of bus we were using.

Nothing to do at the port but a few souvenir stands. Must bargain prices. Excursion to Antigua. Interesting history and architecture. Lots of street vendors who don’t understand “no” or personal space. Don’t plan on returning to Guatemala, but glad we went once.

Very poor country, we went to a drive around zoo that was advertised as driving around in safari style station wagons. We ended up driving around in a 50 passenger bus that limited our views and ability to take decent pictures and videos. The advertised lunch ended up being a small cup of French Fries and a local beer in a very HOT and HUMID open air patio restaurant. Pretty poor, I blame this on Regent, if you wanted a real lunch you had to buy your own.

Nice port. We just walked through the stalls at the pier. Those were very nice.

Not a fan of this port. Took a shuttle to the shopping area, could not enjoy looking for people trying to get you to buy. They have some really cute crafts but all the booths are about the same
