I liked this small port town. It was very working class and the people were very friendly. We took the canal boat trip and went to a supermarket to buy Costa Rican coffee.

Zip line was a lot of fun - skip the banana plantation tour - factories are not open to public so you pay for nothing.

Did not want an excursion for 7-8 hours somstayed on ship. Would have gotten off to see park within walking distance but it rained all day in rain forest atmosphere.

Costa Rica was our favorite port. Costa Rica is BEAUTIFUL and the people are very friendly. Pura Vida! We did the Veragua Rainforest & Aerial Tram excursion. The rainforest was beautiful and we got to see a few sloths along with some exotic birds in the wild. The Veragua Reserve has many exhibits with more elusive reptiles and the butterfly area was awesome. I highly recommend this excursion if you enjoy nature.

The level of poverty is heartbreaking. However, I think we had the best tour guide, very polite and a single mother of 2.
