We enjoyed a ride along an old rail route formerly used for commercial traffic. The tracks run past a number of small communities. Folks will wave at the train as it passes their back yards. At the end of the trip, we bussed to a dock where we were escorted on a mangrove tour, seeing exotic birds and wildlife along the way.

Punta Arenas Take the Pacific Rain Forest Aerial Train & the Jungle Cruise on Tarcoles River to see many birds, crocodiles and other wildlife. Take a gondola and see giant trees, waterfalls & gardens. Walk a trail through a forest.

Take a shore excursion here as it is quite a run down place. We visited the Central Valley where all the coffee plantations are and the scenery changes to one that is very lush and green -coffee plantation tour was very interesting. Also visited village where the vibrantly decorated oxcarts are made

The port we stopped at was Puntarenas. We were bused up a narrow dirt road, (reminded me of Romancing the Stone) to a culture center where we were treated to fresh fruit. Than they put on a story dance about CR. Had a buffet lunch😋really good. Iguanas, wild birds all around. What a treat.

Not much at the port. Take an excursion if you want to see anything. We took the Jungle Crocodile Safari. It was relaxing and we saw lots of birds and crocodiles. The snack afterwards was just a little fruit and coffee, but bathrooms were clean and dancers entertained us briefly.

Again, the bus was late arriving, which reduced our time on the walking tour from 90 minutes in the botanical gardens to under 60 minutes. The souvenir shop stop on the way back to the ship wasn't cut short though!!
