The true highlight of this entire cruise and the reason we all were there. I was amazed at the clean water and facilities. The process of the canal was amazing and would recommend all to do it. It was special for me as my grandfather had gone through the canal 100 years before me. Lake Gatun was beautiful I thought. The experience was a good one. We were disappointed that the aft part of the promenade deck was closed off, we were not sure why, but it would have been nice to have been able to have seen that perspective, too. We had a balcony on the port side and went through the starboard side locks, so we had a great place to watch from. There is no way to know which lock you will go through, so you cannot bank on booking a specific side for the transit. We were outside for times, on the Promenade deck and up top, crowds were not massive anywhere. A great, HOT day!

Great experience. If you want to get off and do an excursion, do the partial transit that starts in FL. My husband and I did that one last year and he really enjoyed getting off the ship and doing the museum and train ride. He learned a lot more than just staying on ship and going thru the lochs

Fascinating civil engineering work. Can be a little slow at times. The ship provided a person to narrate the operation and landmarks along the route - a plus.

Amazing. Read the book first before you go through the canal or observe the workings of the canal.

My husbands favorite part of our 15 day cruise! We went through the old locks and had a wonderful lecturer onboard who did a week long series on the canal.

Just beautiful. Get up early to see how the ship enters the canal

This was the highlight of the trip. I found the best location for me was on deck 7. The area opened on deck 8 was very crowded.
