This was one of my bucket list experiences and it didn’t disappoint. We were so close to the ship moving locomotives that I was able to fist bump the guy operating it.

This is when a balcony cabin is worth the extra money. The transit through the canal is an all day event and it was HOT. it was so nice to sit on our balcony and watch as we moved through the locks and lakes. We did go to the front of the ship to watch one of the locks open and to the back of the ship to watch one close. We also went to the port side to see the newest lock and watch as a freighter moved through it. Even though we sat in our balcony a lot, I had over 13,000 steps on my Fitbit that day!

The HIGHLIGHT of the cruise -- excellent narration was offered about the history of the Panama canal and the structure. Started early about 6 am leaving Pacific waters to 3 pm when the ship made it to the Caribbean waters.

I was like a kid in a candy store all day. I had read so much about the building of the canal so I was not disappointed. Getting a good view was challenging, but I raced all over and saw it all. Also the Panama Rolls are great! We did not have the chance to get off the ship, but that was fine for me. What an awesome experience!

This was fabulous!!! I booked this trip because it fit with our schedule. The Panama Canal Transit was so interesting and educational. We had someone talking about the transit the entire time. He gave us antidotes and explained every step of the way. We thoroughly enjoyed the transit.

This was GREAT! We turned on the ships Deck cam on the TV, and had somebody talking about the canal and what we are seeing... then we just sat out on the balcany and watched... When we wanted to see what the ship was coming up on we looked at the TV. We never had to deal with all the crowds on deck.

Purpose of trip! Interesting. But I thought showing the recent PBS (?) documentary how the building of the canal would have given it a more meaningful trip. The canals history is filled with a lot of tragedy, loss of life, corruption, failures, etc., before successfully being completed. Showing that on closed circuit TV or the day before in the Spinnaker Lounge or Theater would have been nice - and educational as well.
