This was very interesting and a must see how the locks works so well to have been completed in 1914

If you didn't have a pre-paid excursion they wouldn't let you off the ship. After the ship went back through the canal later in the day, it stopped at a shipping dock to retrieve those passengers that had gone on an excursion. There was a tent set up where the locals were selling keepsakes, after all the excursion folks were back on-board they let the ship passengers off for a few minutes to buy some keepsakes.

Great disappointment, I do not understand why this port on the scales of cruises, incidentally I know it is for the visit to the channel, but the city is horrible

Cruise provided free shuttle to Tax Free area. This was terrible! The bus driver got lost several times. Not well organized. It was unsafe. Seems like Cristobal is not prepared to receive tourists.

Re-boarded the ship in Cristobal, with nothing really there, except for some tents set up for local vendors (nothing special) and a local band providing entertainment.

Saw some of the most beautiful architecture in the world! I was amazed at the people and the way they conducted themselves. It’s hard to believe this was once the home of someone like Noriega. Beautiful town and beautiful people.

Do not get off the ship. This is a pickup for the excursions. Do not go to Colon.

Unfortunately we could not get out of the port area but the local people put on a really nice show for us with native dancers and a crafts market.

the Fleamarket in the big arrivalhall - the goods offered are really made by local indians - and show their high craftmanship in the goods offered: weaving and pleating, carving and painting
