Cartagena: Daniel Grey, from Tours by Locals was a fabulous guide. We customized our tour, saw all we requested, & skipped the visits to the emerald shops. Our stop for lunch at La Mulata, in the Walled City (a local & reasonably priced restaurant), was perfect. They served great food & used filtered water. Finally, a quick stop at the port’s free mini zoo, on the pier, completed our perfect day.

I am biased by this port due to meeting a jeweler friend here who made a gorgeous custom piece of jewelry for my son's wife's birthday. We had a ball in Cartegena. The city is very pretty and shopping is good. Constant hawkers shoving things in your face is exhausting.

We took an excursion of the city that included the fort overlooking the bay. We were disappointed to learn that "Romancing the Stone", which supposedly took place in Colombia and specifically Cartagena, was filmed in Mexico. However, the Fort was a fascinating tour - the rest of the tour was OK. The tour guide (Herbert) was very good.

Amazing city! We did the Segway Cartagena tour in the morning which covered the old walled town of Cartagena. It was amazing! We returned to the ship to change clothes and eat dinner then went back to the walled city for a fun evening of walking around, listening to local music and sight seeing. On day 2 we did another excursion (not through Celebrity) and rode a boat along the coastline with our tour guide to the beautiful beach at Playa Blanca. We stayed at the beach for a couple of hours enjoying the beautiful white sand and turquoise waters and eating locally caught fish for lunch.

My excursion was “Hop on Hop Off” plus a walking tour of the “Walled City”. It was very interesting and I enjoyed it.
