Not sure why alot of ships still come here as a stopping port. The cruise line tells you not to go out alone into the city. Petty crime can be bad. And the port area is pretty small for all the ships the dock at the same time. Outside is disorganized finding which way to go. However, my wife and I booked a snorkle adventure with sharks and Ray's. So after the very long tender ride in, we made our way thru the city to meet up with our tour. The day was awesome. We stopped at an island close to the barrier reef for lunch. The food was incredible. It was a fun day.

We did an incredible private Jeep excursion. First we drove through the city, and went to see some Black Howler Monkeys in a special sanctuary. We got to feed them and the guide was super knowledgeable. Then. OUR guide took us to the jungle, behind sleeping giant hill. Halfway through the jungle, after travelling through lots of mud and rugged terrain (which I could have driven the Jeep theough, but chose not to), we stopped. We put on some mining helmets with lights on top and climbed the mountain using steps. When at the top, we entered a small hole in the side of the mountain. It opened up into a cave, full of bats and the occasional cave spider. We went down for about ten minutes and turned around. It was quite warm in there, but really cool. Finally, we drove out of the jungle and went to a huge property with a large cabana. We were the only ones there and we got a local buffet that was delicious.

Went to a man made beach with some water playground items. Could do a rope swing, trampoline and slide. They also had a little restaurant and bar with great coconut shrimp.

We did not take any excursions at this port. We just walked around in the city to enjoy the sights and talk to the locals. They were very nice to talk with and we enjoyed the interaction with them.

This port was fun too. We did a city tour bus excursion and rum tasting at a distillery. We had a good time. The beers were great price in Belize.

We went to Bacab Eco Park horseback riding. The guide on bus ride to the park was very informative. The ride was pretty long. Once you get out of the city the countryside is pretty to look at. the city is pretty much like any city some areas look nicer than others. Once at the park we had a short walk from the parking area to the pools and the buffet area. The bathrooms and changing area were nice and clean. The horseback ride was great for all levels of riding experience. I enjoyed each part of the excursion, but it did leave you with very little time to shop if that was something you would want to do.
