I did a cave tubing excursion. I loved the excursion. I learned a lot about Belize, and the cave was amazing. Totally do the excursion. What I was sad to learn is that most of the excursions and the tourism that happens on Belize really doesn't go to the people on the island. It largely goes to companies in Jamaica. The people who live there and run the excursions are not the ones benefitting from our business. I was not aware of this. I would prefer to go on excursions that are by and for the actual people who live on the island. I want the folks who live there to benefit from my tourism. I want to buy products, eat food, and do activities that teach me about their culture, country and people. When I leave Belize or any other country I visit--I want to leave as friends--welcome to return--with the understanding that I am invested in who they are--not just in getting cheap vacation deals.

No excursions that interested us. We were happy to stay on board and avoid the hassle of tendering to shore. Enjoyed how quiet the ship was, and those who went ashore said we didn't miss much.

Except for the long water taxi from the ship to shore our experience was awesome. This was our first time here. The Mayan ruins are a must see. Climb IF you can....my thighs were burning for about 2 days!!!!

This port was beautiful and the food delicious. We didn't do an excursion but decided to just walk the port area to eat and shop. If you want your passport stamped, ask directions its hard to find.

A lot of people skip Belize and I’m not sure why. They’re poor but that’s not no reason to bypass a great opportunity. The zoo is great, all animals have been rescued. Tour the city and learn about the locals. Check out Goff’s Caye but it is very rocky so take water shoe.

Wonderful port. We had an excellent guide on our city tour that gave us tons of local info. Everyone we met was super nice; not pushy, but just trying to earn an income. Beautiful waters. We could spend several days here. Definitely look forward to our next visit.
