We did a tour to the Lamanai ruins in Belize. My main complaint about this port is that most of the excursions include a lot of traveling. The ruins were awesome but required almost two hours of travel by van and boat each way. By speaking with other cruisers this was the same case for a lot of the other excursions.

Awesome day snorkeling near the barrier reef and swimming with sharks off of Caye Caulker island. Lunch was delicious. Next time will pick something else to do.

If I didn't have an excursion planned, as I didn't this time (I know...I did research and still didn't plan one) I wouldn't get off the ship or just not plan this port on my next visit.

We didn't do any excursions. Just walked around. The vendors are a bit pushy but that's the normal -no real problem; they're aggressively friendly 😂 Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Wasn’t a big fan of this port. This was the perfect storm for a bad port experience. We were warned on the ship (by fellow passengers) that if we didn’t have an excursion booked then we shouldn’t venture beyond the “fort walls” that is Belize. We didn’t have one booked but wanted some souvenirs. I didn’t like the idea of having to tender here. A fear I’d have to get over for that souvenir. Some of the vendors were pushy and it made me a little uncomfortable. The day we were in there were 4 ships with us. (Grrrr) It was shoulder to shoulder when looking for said souvenir and I mean like worse than the lido deck on embarkation day! Shopping center was big and I did like that.

Our excursion was fun, however if we port here again I’d stay on the boat. The port was very unsafe feeling. I definitely wouldn’t take my kids off the boat here. We booked a zip line and jungle buggy excursion which was a blast. However, it was listed as a 4.5 hour excursion. The drive to the excursion was 1 hour and 15 minutes EACH WAY. Which I heard a lot of people say their excursion was that far or further.

We did cave tubing from butts up cave-tubing.com our tour guide Speedy was very informative and made the trip amazing also no carrying the heavy tubes as it is a like a mile walk in the jungle but do bring some good bug spray it was October and I was doomed. The shops right outside the port have the best deals and the passport stamp is a small shack behind the shops.

Yes, very impressed with country. Jeep Safari & Al Tun Ha ruins impressive. Lots of steps to climb, heights my downfall, but well worth the effort. The cave we explored an added bonus. Very personalized tour, even ate at guides home. An experience to last a lifetime.
