Some ports you just "like", and Singapore struck us that way. Friendly people, clean (as advertised), and it felt very safe. Credit card use isn't widespread, so exchange some cash, especially for small purchases like drinks.

Singapore is a very busy port lots of ships in the harbor and the sky line with all the buildings are great

We visited the Marina Bay Sands observation deck, which was impressive. We didn't do any excursions with the ship, as the public transport seems really easy to navigate and works well. We went into the Gardens by the Bay as well, and did the Flower Dome and the Japanese Gardens under the Dome - breathtaking!

Overall: We are in the 50's in shape and adventurous, so we did all self guided tours. Very easy to get in and out of the port on self guided tours. Just expected to walk 10-15 minutes to the MTR to get into the city.
