Much nicer destination. How you would expect Mumbai to be. Very busy city. We visited 3 markets. Really enjoyed our 4 hour excursion. Guide was very good.

Beautiful city and buildings. Amazing architecture. The biz of this place was totally different from the others. Be prepared if you go walking as there are beggars and they are usually kids. On leaving the ship you are harassed by taxi guys wanting to take you around and can get quite aggressive if you say no. We walked into town and visited the gates of India. This is about 1.5 miles over busy roads etc. And the traffic is something else. Lots of horns tooting but no road rage. Visited the museum that cost 2200 rupees. Paid on credit card which worked out at £24 for 4 people. Again we were asked for selfies by the locals.

This was the best place we visited (other than Dubai) on our cruise. It had something for everyone. We negotiated a driver who took us to major sites of interest to us in 5 hours for a cost of $50 USD. I would like to go back to this city again as the time he had was way to short.

We loved Mumbai/Bombay and booked a private 2 day tour at this port with ‘Mumbai Moments’. The tour operator, Amish, is refreshingly honest. His driver and guide took us to all the usual tourist spots and quite a bit more. Not the cheapest but comprehensive and truly enjoyable.

Disembarkation after 18-day cruise from Hong Kong. Spectacular room and views in the historic building of Taj Mahal Hotel prior to 11 day’s independent touring in northern India. Mumbai is a noisy, humid, exciting metropolis that contains many worlds bursting at the seams. The city is safe for independent tourists—except when you try to cross the street. Chinese restaurant in the hotel is expensive, but worth every rupee!

First, customs and immigration in India is absurd. Visas were applied for prior to leaving the US. Total waste of time and money. We were finger printed and had optical screening after re-doing our paperwork! Absolutely the most ridiculous process that we have every experienced traveling internationally. Again, the excursions were just difficult. Large, dirty city. Interesting but we were in a mess of traffic and the only restroom was in Gandhi's museum so I only got to see the ladies room.
